yay!!!! Glad it's back!!
Very exciting that you're back up and running! Still waiting on BEC in TN.... and to think I was actually refreshing a week ago, sigh. Congrats to everyone passing!! I'm sure we'd all pass if we spent as much time studying as we do reading this forum ;)
So, do we think the rest of BEC will be out this afternoon???
Yay! For those of us that are the step-children of AICPA/NASBA, we appreciate having this back!
Anyone received REG in MD or know when I should expect it. I know they usually post at 10AM and I hope tomorrow is it!
Anyone in Oregon received scores through the mail yet?
anyone from NY got bec yet? still waiting.
Oh thank goodness. something to release nervous energy on. I hope Texas gets their game face on and has posted by tomorrow am! I think i'm going to drink a bottle of wine tonight so hopefully i manage to get some sleep!! Wow, that sounds so tragic and alcoholic-ish. :(
Really praying that Texas posts Reg scores tomorrow morning. I want to possibly celebrate on the weekend!
I want to celebrate passing REG with a kick as$ Aggie football game! I think if i fail, it doesnt bode well for football.
@Loaf
I'm from NY and got BEC last week
I hope Texas posts FAR scores tomorrow morning! I stayed up all night bc I couldn't sleep from the anxiety, then there was nothing to show for it! Besides passing out on the couch and being late for work!
@LCAggie--Should be a good game...it's UTs bye week so I'm going to the antique festival in my hometown....hopefully I can celebrate being done with my CPA with my family tomorrow....but most likely I won't get my score until next week...dang AICPA!!!
@Megan - hopefully we both get our scores tomorrow!
@keeptrying - Didn't you pass AUD? It's not in your sig
Thanks for noticing..dang it must have lost it during the server switch over....
@keeptrying - Whew! You scared me lol. I am really nervous for you. Please AICPA, release her score already!!!
I'm officially done! It was an awful summer studying for these exams, but it will be a great Fall. Thank you to all of the people who post on the website! All of you were a great support for me! I wish everyone good luck, and if anyone has any questions, i'll be more then happy to answer them.
Good luck!!!
I failed REG for the 3rd time. Unbelievable..got 72. Before I got 65 and 68. This really hurts. But I passed AUD, so it's still good....
I saw improvement, as I used to supplement Becker in some areas with Wiley. How much time do you think I need to re-study to make sure I pass?
I can put in 25 hours per week.
I desperately need advise. I put in 100 hrs in my last re-study and took exam on 8/31. So materials are fairly fresh in my mind.
@Exhausted--I just want to know so I can plan my fall....and the rest of my life.... ;-) I'm really thinking i must be borderline...I would have to be.
@NYCPA34 - Congrats! Good luck to you.
@keeptrying - What is with the second batch anyways? Is it really for borderline people?
keeptrying:
I have to know... how do you keep on fighting?!? You're such an active member here, and you always seem to be in good/high spirits. I just missed REG and AUD the FIRST time through by the skin of my teeth and I feel sick to stomach!
You're an inspiration for sure!
I'm hoping the second batch is for people who did so awesome they had to manually look at them because they couldn't believe it!!! lol
@ Iwannabelicensed did you use the progress test feature in Becker?
Oh shoot - I lost my update in my sig too - just noticed
I AM DONE WITH THIS "BEAST"
thank you everybody and good luck!
@exhausted that's what I've heard but I also saw Jeff say there was a huge chunk of BEC scores, close to half, hadn't been posted yet. I have no idea I just know that I was one of a group of 4 people that i personally know that took BEC. First person made an 80, next person made a 60, the person after that made a 71...I made a 71 last time and I was considered in the second batch then...WHO KNOWS!! I bet the AICPA said when they saw my name "oh there she is our little revenue maker...she is the reason we won't ever have to cut budgets...."
Anyone without a FAR score who isn't in Texas?
Congrats cmsro!!!
@ keeptrying
Hang in there. Hopefully tomorrow yours will come out. I felt the same way you do. I started the CPA exam process in 2006 and have taken it way more times then my signature says. I got a lot of 72 and 73's. I have faith that you are done.
As i remember, you are in CA also, correct?
@CertifiedPainintheA
Thank you!! I wish you the same!
Last window I passed BEC and I was in the second wave of scores, had to wait a week fr that damn score but was a 76 so it was worth it!!! (english not my first language so 3 writtings was tough)
@mep616--I sure hope so. Thank you so much for the support...I started this process in the beginning of 2007. My first exam was 2/27/07....I just looked it up. On the TX state board site I can see every date I've ever sat for the exam along with the score....had to scroll down the screen there was so many!
Thanks for the support and I'm glad that other people can take my scores and look at them and know that they can do this too!
I had initially typed that on another thread that was gone once the server came back. I'm in Texas....
Speaking of CA though where in the world is KandisJoy???
@ LCAggie - I hear you! I am pretty sure I failed REG. I just want to know for sure so I can move on!
I keep seeing people talking about checking their score on the new site. Anyone know how to do this?
Yes, I took the live class with Becker and did the homework on time. After 6 weeks I was done with the classes and went twice through the pass master and did not do all SIMs. I got 68. Second time I only did the tax R1-R4 thinking that i still remember BLaw. Mistake. I got 65 and SIMs were difficult.
3rd time I supplemented with Wiley for 70-80% of tax subjects and only sales for Blaw. I just got my score 72. I found the exam way more difficult than last times. the SIM's were from subjects that I never saw in my textbooks.
In progress tests I used to get over 90 because I know Becker by heart. In Wiley my average score was funny..72.
New site...go to nasba.org and go under your state. Try to re-apply. It will sned you to the new page. You need to register.
@cmsro so there is hope for those of us waiting for a whole week now for our BEC score:)
I can only imagine writing those 3 memos and English being a second language, kudos to you!
@ErinBrook - i am almost positive I failed too. But I just want to know, so that I know what to do next. I hate being in limbo. And I especially hate the people who randomly ask me (it always seems to be girlfriends who are teachers) "so have you managed to pass that test yet?"
Me: Umm half. it's actually 4 different exams, and they're all less than 50% pass rate
Naive Friend: Oh. well you just keep trying. I remember how hard it was for me to pass my test to teach High School instead of Elementary.
Me: Oh, yes. That must have been very difficult....
@Iwannabelicensed the progress by section or the one with 100 questions? Did you do wiley sims?
keeptrying - I think the AICPA is using the two of us to build a wing or a new floor on to their building.
@Newbie58, LOL!!!!!
@kricket---I am telling you what...our sons would have been able to afford Harvard with as much money as we have thrown at review material and testing fees.... ;-)
Passed FAR with and 84 whhhhhhoooooooopppp.. Congrats to everyone who passed.. to those who didn't good luck next time. I was not sure if I would have every been able to get a passing score, but its possible if you studddddddddy hard. Not sure what it means but I bought Becker final review for FAR and not for AUD. Good luck to everyone.
@ LCAggie - I totally understand! People don't understand how much time and effort it takes to pass the CPA exam. I think my co-workers think I'm slacking when in reality I am right on track (so far). The SIMS killed me. If they weren't 40% of my grade, I might have a better chance of passing REG this time. (FYI. I HATE TAX!)
OMG newbie58 I think that is how many of us will feel when we are finally done! Well said, but I'm not sure if we can post such language here:) LMAO
Didn't pass FAR this time and felt soooooo stupid - my first time taking any of the parts. This forum has been a great help in helping me get through this horrible test. Just got to keep my chin up and keep on trying. I think determination is the key no matter what study material you use.
@ mvonstei
Was wondering how you did, it sounded like we both had the same experience with REG and didn't see if you got your score?
Pissed I missed BEC, as it was in the middle of REG and FAR and I got burned out on studying so I slacked a little, or the process would have been complete.
These are the same group of girlfriends who inform me on Wine Night that "Being a stay at home mom is really the most difficult job in the world." That they are a "cook, a babysitter, a chauffeur and blah blah blah". To which I say to all the CPA Studying moms out there - tell them to F off, because that's what i say. I say "I know. and then i strap on my 4 inch heels and pencil skirt and go to WORK, and study once they're back in bed."
So here's a cheers, to all the crazy working, studying moms out there. At least you're obsessed with Partnership Passive Income instead of what color your kids poop is.
I can't believe Texas. I have always liked what I've heard about Texas, UNTIL NOW! I'm pulling for you!
