Has anyone gone from a small firm servicing only privately held Companies to working in internal audit for a fortune 500? I have 0 experience working with SOX compliance or PCAOB compliance. I also have 0 experience working for a global company.
However, I’m on the verge of an offer for a senior internal auditor which will include a nice pay raise and a very great opportunity to grow professionally. I’m just not sure I have the level of experience necessary to succeed? Will the learning curve be too steep?
FWIW I am 29 years old, CPA, senior at a local firm, and earn $75k in a low cost of living fairly small city (300,000 population). If I get an offer, I’d love to run with the big dogs and see what I’m made of, but a little worried about my level of experience. The majority of the department is made up of Big4 people.
