Just got home from Audit, surprised and disappointed.

I just took Audit, and there are so many thing I wish I would have done differently preparing for this exam.

First and foremost I wish I would not have scheduled my exam so close to a score release. I was so in my head waiting for FAR that I couldn’t focus on Audit. I was so sure I didn’t pass FAR and all I could think about was how this exam didn’t matter as I was going to have to retake FAR anyway.

About a week ago I felt like I had reached a point of no return, I felt like I was so far away from being prepared that there was no possible chance of me being ready and I kind of gave up. From that moment I couldn’t find any motivation to study as I felt like it was pointless because I was going to have to retake the exam regardless.

Before walking into the exam I was feeling like it was silly for me to even be taking it, and that it was going to be a wasted 4 hours as there was no chance for me to pass.

After leaving the test 2 hours early I know I didn’t pass, but I feel like I was really close. I wish I would have just really kicked myself in the butt last week, I know that if I had put in one more solid week of studying (maybe even just a few long days!) I could have passed that exam.

I am so disappointed with myself for giving up, so for anyone reading this, don’t tap out before taking the exam! Go full throttle until the very last day! I most likely just wasted 200 dollars and a lot of hassle having to completely restudy when I could have just dedicated a few more solid days.

You’re probably close, just keep pushing!!

@ acctygal Thanks for that. I have been slipping a little bit on my studying today and will get back to work. Cheer up you can always take AUD in a month if you don't pass.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

    94…86…91, I'm sure you sub-par ill-prepared attempt will get you an 83.

    or

You'll fail and still only have one test to go, and are miles away from anything expiring.

Either way, buck up, you're in a great position

You seem like one of those annoying people that always say that they think they failed and get very high grades. No offense lol.

Sorry if I was annoying to anyone, I was just trying to provide some motivation to anyone who felt like they were really far from being prepared.

That's not very nice guys. You aren't annoying at all. Being insecure about whether or not you passed happens to everyone. Some pass, some fail. Many people come out of the exam feeling they passed and they really failed. I truly felt like I failed my AUD retake and I passed. You were probably more prepared than you thought. And if not, then you know what to do differently next time. I hope it works out!

@ acctygal Sometimes people make the mistake of thinking the guys scoring in the 90's are just naturally gifted. I am sure you just had a greater level of commitment than us who scored in the 70's and 80's. Even the supposed smarties can fail an exam if they don't commit themselves. That being said, if you fail, you are still a month away from being done with this thing. Good luck!

Well, to be honest the main reason I've done well on the exams is I've had nothing else going on. I'm in my masters and took a bunch of the masters courses in ungergrad (I didn't think I was going to do my masters), so my classes have been easy non core classes.

I couldn't imagine trying to do this while working or if I had a family or any responsibilities beyond feeding myself and my dog.

Anytime I hear about people on here passing while working or that have kids I'm incredibly impressed, I don't think I could ever do it, if I wasn't single with nothing going on but Becker I don't think I'd even have a shot in the dark.

I just got really burned out for this exam, I only had 3 weeks between FAR and AUD and had spent the previous 5 weeks cramming for FAR nonstop.
