Just got my last score about half hour ago... AUD and I passed!! I'm still in shock. Hey, if I can do it anyone can.
\nSo I need to take the AICPA Ethics course either the CD ROM version or the Book version. Can anyone tell me what they have used any why? What are the pros and cons or each?\n

I just did mine last weekend and I used the book. It was the easiest test I have ever taken. I can't speak for the CD, but I don't think you could possibly regret getting the book. Easiest thing ever. Find your answers in the book at your leisure then go online and fill in the radio buttons.\n

I didn't find it to be the easiest thing ever - I scored an 89 on my first submission and then had to spend 2 hours figuring out which few answers were wrong. :)\n

I used the book, but that's because I hate reading on a computer screen! My advice would be to go with whatever you are more comfortable reading from.
\nI thought it was ridiculously easy, written at about an 8th grade reading level, very similar to high school basic standards tests.\n

Well...forget the answer sheet.Just find answers for the questions at the back of the book.Go to the link it says and fill in those answers.can be done on the website 3 times and u need a 90 only.Pretty simple provided u can skim thru the book and find the answers though i think the CD might be easier with ctrl f.\n

For some software, CTRL + F does not work. As long as it works with the CD, then I'd definitely recommend the CD. Still, with the book, the entire process took me about an hour. I'm talking from the time I unwrapped the book until the time I saw my passing score.\n

I just did the Ethics exam got a 98.. took me about 2 hours with the book.. but I was watching TV.. kind of wasn't paying attention to what I was doing.. so it took way longer than needed.

the official name is " Professional Ethics: The AICPA's Comprehensive Course”. go to the aicpa website then search "ethics exam"... they make it more confusing to find the appropriate book than needed!\n

I used the CD. When I bought it, I assumed it was going to be a pdf (so I could use control-F) but it was a video. Nonetheless, it was still pretty easy. I had the CD on one side of my screen and the online exam on the other side.Took me about 2 hours, but like a lot of other people, I was watching TV. I got a 98. And it's 8 hours of CPE which most of us either already need or soon will be needing (although previously it was 20 hours of CPE but whatever, it's only 40 questions).\n

I took my last exam last week and know that Jeff is going to be right on for Wave 2 (the Wave 1 mix up was a fluke) and I will be getting my PASSING BEC score around the 15th of December. I am planning on answering the quiz questions in my book this weekend and then taking the online test as soon as I get my passing (hopefully) BEC score. My goal was to be a CPA by the end of 2010 and if it doesn't happen, it won't be from a lack of trying.
\nFirst question: I heard that the book questions are identical to the online questions, can any one confirm if that is true? Second question: Does anyone know how long it takes the AICPA to report the score to the state (Virginia in my case) Board of Accountancy?

Why are you waiting for your passing score in order to take the AICPA ethics test? Does your state make you wait?
\nIf not, I'd recommend doing it now (this is what I did), that way as soon as the state has all of your requirements/passing sores, then they can issue your license sooner!! :)\n

I've heard people recommending to check your State Board website first. Search something like "what to do after you pass the exam". Then go to the AICPA website. Search "ethics exam" The official name is " Professional Ethics: The AICPA's Comprehensive Course”. they make it more confusing to find the appropriate book than needed!
\nI know someone who got the CD and did not like it. The book has the questions in the back. It's so easy!\n
