Man this really sucks I don’t know what to think, I’m just drained mentally. I’m just praying I can get the strength to get back in there after I failed! I studied using CPAexcel, this just sucks can’t really describe the feeling. My whole exam schedule is messed up now. This was my first exam and I can say it’s hitting me a little hard. So close.

You need to maybe get the Wiley book ($65) to supplement. It should not mess your schedule too much. You probably need another 10 days with Wiley book to reinforce the material, you were not that far from passing. And that can be done concurrently with preparing for the next exam. Choose AUD, it has some overlapping with BEC. Just sayin'…

givemesleep – I posted this on the bec forum but how are you memorizing all these formulas? are bec tests computation heavy or is it hit/miss? taking on the 30 and expecting I won't be ready, but taking anyway

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

I'm aware of the disclosure requirements. For me aud was concept heavy, reg was half-half, etc. more based on study materials I guess. Hard to tell for BEC since it seems so all over the place so was wondering if the exam is generally perceived as being concept or computation heavy.

@tdavishurt, sorry to hear it. We are in the same boat i just found out I failed with 70 and used the same study material. So, I think i know exactly what you feel. I'll try it again in July as well. I know my weaknesses – COSO, and I've got a lot of difficult questions on that topic. I'll study much harder this time and am going to memorize every word about COSO.

Take a break for couple of days and get back to studying and reviewing. I'm sure you'll pass it next time!!!

Don't get too frustrated. Just study and retake. I failed BEC with a 74 in February and I took it again and made another 74… Hard to believe.

    BEC: 74,74,76
    REG: 70,
    FAR:
    AUD: 70,74,

I took BEC at the beginning of this test window and can say my test was clearly concept heavy, maybe 1/4 involved calculations. I didn't even bother studying the overhead variances as the cost/benefit of doing so seemed like a waste of time. I also did not know how to answer 2/3 WC topics but scored above average (I swear I'm not good at BSing). As long as you can come up with a valid answer and write cohesively you should have no problem with that section.

I found out few weeks back that I failed my first exam BEC with 60 🙁 I used Roger CPA review & Wiley and had put in hundreds of hours. I had thought after the exams that if I fail it will be very close. 60 is very bad though. I am out of mourning and planning to reappear in August. I had already started studying for REG and now my plan is to complete Sec 1 of REG by this weekend start BEC next week until exams. Any study ideas will be great.

How much studying have you done for regulation? If not much, hit back BEC harder this time around, since the material is still fresh.

60 means you need to clarify a lot of dust and understand the concepts much better. Take one step at a time, figure out your weaknesses, re-run the lectures, make notes/flashcards, take lot of practice tests and dont even attempt to take BEC if you dont see a minimum of 80 in your practice test.

Did you follow any of the above i mentioned before you walked into BEC? and got a 60?
