Hello everyone. So I applied to lots of programs last year to begin the Masters in Accounting program. I got into all of them except The College of William & Mary (whatever its their loss).

SO I am currently trying to decided between NC State, University of Virginia, and Loyola University Chicago.

I just need to know what program is the most well known and respected? And I need honest opinions about which one will provide me with the best chances of securing a job. I would like a job (doesn’t matter if its private or public) on the East/NorthEast Coast….New York, Washington DC, Boston, etc. Anyways this is a really important decision to me and I need to make sure that I’m choosing the right place to get this degree from.

University of Virginia, easy. Most HR people and finance/accounting managers are clueless about the quality of Master of Accounting programs, but are generally familiar with business programs overall (whether undergrad or MBA. UVA (McIntire) has a reputation in the elite category along with Mendoza, Wharton, Booth, Kelley, etc.

Plus, at UVA you will be living in Charlottesville. I am originally from MI, and moved there. It is simply an incredible place 🙂

@ThePrinceOfSunspear I received my MBA at Loyola and it was just OK. For me it was more of a credential rather than a way to network, so I didn't really mind. But for what your looking for Loyola is most likely not a good choice from among your options.
