Just took AUD

So I just took Audit literally a few hours and I can’t help but feel extremely frustrated. I was pretty excited as I proceeded through the MCQ, which seemed to go smoothly. As soon as I hit the simulations, my jaw dropped. The simulations from becker did not prepare me whatsoever for the difficulty of the simulations on this exam. Anyone else out there that took Audit recently? I am very frustrated with these sims.

Hi Chris. I took AUD on Monday and I can relate to your feeling of frustration on the sims. They were pretty tricky. I made my best guess on some of them and hope I got those right I thought I might. I have to admit I really expected worse for the sims based upon various posts I’ve read on this board. Wish I knew which one they were going to throw out.

Anyway, I’m trying not to dwell on the exam now since a) I won’t find out my score for 2 months and b) it won’t change what is already done. I just HOPE I did enough to pass.

    AUD: 07/11/11 - Passed
    BEC: 08/27/11 - Passed
    FAR: 01/17/12 - Passed
    REG: 04/30/12; Re-take 7/16/12 - Passed

    FINISHED!!!!!!!!

you guys are really scaring me with these simulations. is it that they take everything you learned in the course and expect you to grasp it all into 1 simulation….like give you real audit scenarios and your expected to know what type of work to do, how to react to an audit problem, etc. :-/

I know you can't tell me what you got on simulations, but can you at least say if the courses (Becker in my case) cover these topics? :-/

Wishing: I would not say they take everything you've learned and throw it into a single sim but they definately test your understanding and application of topics in different sims. I'm sure my sims were different than others. I didn't use Becker, I used Wiley and I can tell you none of the sims on the actual exam were like what I practiced. The actual exam required some deeper thought or analysis.

The main suggestion I can give you is when you get to the sims is just concentrate on that particular sim. Try not to phyche yourself out for what may lie ahead. You may find they actually come easy to you. Everyone has different strengths. Also, if you leave yourself enough time (1.5 hrs+) to complete the sims, you will have time to utilize the research button that is available in each of the sims. This could give you a bit more comfort on whether your answers are on target.

    AUD: 07/11/11 - Passed
    BEC: 08/27/11 - Passed
    FAR: 01/17/12 - Passed
    REG: 04/30/12; Re-take 7/16/12 - Passed

    FINISHED!!!!!!!!

Susan is definitely right. I took Becker and the simulations from there have no reflection on what I saw on the exam. The sims required much more thought and analysis than anything I had practiced. At this point I'm just praying I did solid enough on the MC to give me a shot. I was definitely surprised once I got to that 4th testlet.

The Simulations were extremely Difficult compared to the testlets. I agree with what susan says as well, you def. need to analyze and think a lot more than the simulations that Becker provides.

Reading this is getting me worried. I'm in my final review and just re-did the Becker sims for A4. I am so bad at the one that has you look at relationships between accounts or how ratios changed from one year to the next. You choose which scenario could cause the change. If there are a bunch of those on there, I will certainly do terrible on the Sims. Is this something that anyone else struggles with? A4 in general has been really hard for me. No matter how much I study, some of the questions I just have no idea how to answer.

    FAR - 86
    AUD - 90
    REG - 79
    BEC - 89

Yeah the becker simulations hardly helped at all, agree with everyone saying the ones on the exam require much more thought.

there is no way to fully prepare for the sims and thats unfortunate since the sims will make or break you in terms of passing..gl
