    Hey all, first time caller long time listener here.

    Just took the audit section for the second time. The first time I scored a 71 and walked out of the exam feeling confident. I actually thought it was pretty easy. This time was completely different. The multiple choice was extremely difficult, way more difficult than any of the MCQ from Becker review. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong I went through all of Becker review materials, read the audit book twice, took notes on it twice, any advice on how to pass?

    How do you know you didn't already pass? You don't. Plenty of people on here walked out of exams feeling like they were just run over by a truck, yet got their score and passed. You may too.

    I think there's a strong *negative* correlation between how well you think you did and your score.

    @Beantown23 someone posted recently on a similar exam experience. Most likely you stayed on difficult testlets so at the end of it you feel like you failed but those have a higher weight so you probably did great. Unfortunately only thing you can do at this point is wait until 8/4. :/

    FAR - (11/01/14) 71 (02/07/15) 79
    AUD - (04/30/15) 86
    BEC - (07/21/15) 73 (10/01/15) 75
    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

    @Beantown I feel the exact same way. The first time I sat (for AUD) I had no idea what I was doing. The second, I studied my ass off and left thinking I gave it my all and passed with flying colors. I was devastated when I saw that 72 on score release day. This time I feel like I knew the Becker material inside and out. This third time I thought the exam was impossible! I even thought my first testlet was hard! Not to mention the sims, they were completely out of left field. I wish I knew what they wanted out of me. I don't even know how I could have studied anymore to be ready for the exam they handed out on Monday (7/13). I'm at a loss of what to do next. I guess I'll try Ninja next time. I'm going to move on to REG and hopefully get a passing score with that to try and get my mojo back but for now I want to forget that AUD even exists. I already know I failed, there is no doubt. :(. Let's just hope this means FAR will be easier for us!

    @lesspantsmorefinance I just took mine today 7/14. I thought the first testlet was hard as well. I didn't find any questions straight forward at all. My first attempt had an easier exam by far. The questions were so twisted i couldn't even remember them so that I could look them up after the exam. If I don't pass I'm moving on to bec, need some math in my life. Honestly don't think I can read another piece of audit material for a while.

    @Beantown If I had to guess I think my testlets went Med->Med/Hard->Med/Hard. Although the first one felt like a hard testlet!!

    SIMS I answered with about 65-70% confidence. Not sure if I got the research sim right. Halfway through the test I felt like giving up. I didn't recognize a decent amount of the aud questions from Ninja or anything. But I could narrow the hard ones down to 2 answers. There were some easy ones sprinkled in though. I walked out of the testing center so pissed!

    I'm with you though I think we had the same test experience!!

    I took AUD on 7/12. MCQ went okay but two SIMS were just about the same and I think I bombed both. It's amazing how these tests beat you down. I'm finding it difficult to start BEC.

    @Kerrio are you taking BEC Aug 31st? I'm debating between cramming for that or doing BEC last and taking two months to study Reg. (Hopefully passing AUD of course)

    @coloradorit

    I completely agree! This time around I felt like I bombed FAR/BEC and ended up getting good scores. Compared to 2010 when I took these exams last, I left REG/AUD/BEC feeling like I passed and those were the ones that I failed on.

    The negative correlation is hit and miss. I felt good about all of my exams, except for REG, and I've passed easily. The issue with failing exams is you can't really learn anything more from the MCQ's because you have most of them memorized. I would purchase the Ninja MCQ's and work the practice exam on the AICPA website. Make sure you understand the concepts more than anything.
