And well...my mind is pretty much blown, lol. Is this the hardest topic on FAR? I've heard mixed things. I'm about to take a stab at the multiple choice questions but I can imagine myself screaming and kicking my chair after the first couple.

I should be there in a few hours...
I still have a sharp object around from F4 to use in case i got one of the straight line depreciation questions wrong..
Maybe i'll end up using it more in F5
Finished F5..bonds and pensions. first time round was pretty bad. second time not so bad. if you think f5 is crazy, you will enjoy deferred taxes in F6. When is the exam?
FAR for me is 3 weeks from yesterday. I don't start work until Nov. so I just study all day like 9 hours per. Bonds is giving me a lot of trouble first time through, some of these MCQ are so tricky. Any tips to master this stuff?
I had a much better understanding of it after about the 3rd time through. Go back over it more once you have gotten all the way through. You'll have to review certain sections more than others. Bonds was definitely one of them for me
Going over and over seems to be the best way to retain everything. Look into all the answers and also pay attention why the rest are incorrect. i am taking mine early october. i am still on F6 and i really feel unprepared. i am already thinking of a retake.
Do you work too, or just study? I just finished FAR5 but I wanna go over a few more things to try to drill it down before I go to FAR 6.
Ahhh...sounds like it only gets worse. I'm on F2 right now and the homework questions are pretty tough for me. I got around 50% the first go around!
yes i work fulltime....i come home to study and can only concentrate for some short span. Want to get done with FAR and one more before my first busy season begins. You study about 9 hrs per day....wow, i really wish i had that much time. weekends up to now has been consumed by other errands. so petrified about FAR.
Don't worry you'll be fine. Just put in the work and it'll pay off. I'm not gonna lie though this test intimidates the hell out of me. The amount of information is endless but I feel like they know that and can't really expect us to know EVERYTHING. haha, but yea I feel like all I do is study, my life is terrible right now haha.
Hi. I'm working on F5 and F6. I think (being the optimal word) I understand bonds finally. We'll see when I do the questions. However, I'm not so sure about the income taxes. F2 took a while to get through. I did have to go through some of those questions a third time. I sit for FAR on Oct 8 and AUD on Nov 14.
@Twest - we are in pretty much the same boat. i am taking FAR on 10/8 and BEC on 11/14.
good luck!
I am going through F6. I have been preparing taxes for few year snow. However the journal entries in deferred taxes is a mess.
I had to watch a video on investopedia.com about bonds before it "clicked" for me. it helped me understand the flow of transactions and which party receives interest payments and why something is considered a discount/premium and the amortization schedule made more sense. Figured it doesnt hurt to get a different perspective on a subject.
@dsal I am brand new to the site, and haven't read all of the rules, but can you post a link to the video that you watched? I have been struggling with bonds, and looked for this video on investopedia, but couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
