As with everyone, I’m so burnt out. We only have a week left but this past week has been overly draining. This is my first tax season and I do A&A as well as tax. Never did tax before this job.

This past week I had a return I submitted for review and the partner pretty much re-did the whole thing. He said to not take it personally there was just some stuff I wouldn’t have known and I bit off a little more than I could chew.

I get down on myself when I don’t get these returns right. I try not to make the same mistake twice and I’ve gotten my returns done in a timely manner.

Do the managers and partners recognize that first years will make mistakes? I don’t want them to think I’m not capable of working here. They all seem to like me and trust me to do difficult work.

What’s the best mindset to have here?

I wouldn't take it personally. Just keep working. It is almost over !

I'm basically in the same boat. I've pretty much hated busy season and no matter how many hours I log the pile keeps growing and I'm not going to finish.

At this point I'm just going to let the pieces fall where they will. I put in an honest effort, that's all I can do. At some point, enough is enough, you can't sustain 6 hours of sleep a night over a 7 day work week and actually be that productive.

I need 3 more months to get my experience requirement complete – that's what I keep telling myself.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 74, 79
    FAR - 75

That's kind of a silly question. Of course they do. It's called learning. Seek review notes and learn from them.

People make mistakes. All day every day. Don't stress.

    Don't worry. Be happy.
