    NINJA Question –

Anyone sick of this – meaning watching the instructor read the textbook to you??? Instructing means giving me a way to remember the material – not standing there and reading it at warp speed. Perhaps I’m just in a bad mood from studying.

Are you learning from lecture? Time is money. If you're not learning from it, stop watching it!

Everyone's learning style is different, and some people don't learn well from listening.

I SUCK at comprehending things that I hear, so when I studied for the exam, I usually skipped lecture. I usually read the book and practiced homework problems. And then I only watched lecture at the end, if I had trouble grasping a concept or if I were too tired to read the book.

Just because it's included in your $3,000 review package, you don't have to watch it to succeed.

I recommend sticking to the study habits that worked best for you when you were in high school and college.

Motivated by JC. I do it to make God proud.

No it's Roger. He was great on FAR lots of mnemonics and not too bad with audit. I really found I could listen to his lectures over and over on FAR without losing interest. But he seems disconnected from the material in BEC. If I had to do it over, I'd just stick with his audio course.

Gleim lectures are better for the BEC, yes he's reading from cards, but the pace is slower. I really like the instructor from the Caribbean (at least I think that's where he's from) in Gleim.

I usually solve this problem by pretending to be read to in a “Morgan Freeman” voice.

That is until Jim Carrey's voice shows up and all crap goes to hell.

Yes, I use Becker and that's all they do. – Read the textbook to you. My very first intermediate accounting teacher did that. Worst teacher I've ever had, hands down. Cant speak for the other programs but Becker is overpriced for what you get.

My system is basically now to do the Wiley Test Questions all the way through and then I switch back and forth between the Gleim and the Ninja Test bank. I listen to the lectures when I'm so toasty I can't do another MCQ. The lectures are really better for reviewing the concepts after you get a handle on what's being tested in the MCQ. I will say that with FAR, Roger's audio course was worth every penny. Audit was pretty good as well. I love the Gleim test bank software for the MCQ'S the SIMS not so much. Like Wiley best for the SIMS.

I've tried the flash cards – Jeff's are excellent – but find I don't use them that much.
