Today we interviewed a 27-28 year old applicant whose resume clearly states “Education/Credentials” CPA License. Using https://app.cpaverify.org/search, I could find myself (so I know it works)…but she was no where to be found, NO WHERE.

She interviewed okay, and may have been given serious consideration. However, while I’m not the hiring manager, I’m going to recommend that she not be hired for, if nothing else, LYING. Perhaps not telling the truth is why she’s part of the kitchen staff of a local restaurant rather than in her field(s) of study: Business Management, Accounting and Business Finance.

How disappointing when applicants think they can lie and get away with it.
