Hi, I just received the license number yesterday from Illinois state.

The certificate is printed to A4 paper. I am not sure if there will be another version of certificate ?

another question is that the license was issued yesterday , and the expiration date will be another 7 months. Should it be at least 2 years for the expiration for the license ?

I'm not in IL, so not sure what the certificates are like. I'm pretty sure that if it's a NASBA state, you can order a larger certificate, but I'm not in a NASBA state so can't say for sure on that either. However, what I can say is that when I was licensed, my license expired about 7 months later. However, I received a letter from my state board saying that this first renewal wouldn't require the renewal fee or CPE, so basically it made it 2 years 7 months till I had to renew for the first time, instead of 1 year 7 months if I'd been on the other rotation (even-numbered licenses renew one year and odd-numbered the next year in KY).

In MA, all cpa licenses expire on June 30 of either odd or even years. I'm an odd year, No matter when I got my initial license from July 1,2011-June 30, 2013 it still would have ,expired on 6/30/13. Sounds like your state has a similar rule that all renewals are on a predetermined date that has nothing to do with when you earned your license.

By my understanding, all licenses in my state have to be renewed every January 1, no matter when they were issued. Also, sounds like we can order certificate prints/reprints from NASBA. Looks like it's a state-by-state thing.
