    Remembering the definitions of attest, attestation, and assurance engagements without checking the note cards. My sister thinks it's all the same even after I explained these meanings.

    And yes, seeing new questions after doing hundreds is up there as well!

    @misanthrope:

    Attest is an engagement that requires independence. This includes audits, reviews, compilations, attestation and assurance services. An accountant may still perform a compilation if not independent if this is disclosed in the repory or, if no report is issued, in the engagement letter.

    Attestation is an engagement where a written report is issued on something other than historical financial statements. Examples are: agreed upon procedures, attest to the MD&A, reporting on internal controls for nonissuers, prospective F/S, and Pro Forma F/S.

    Finally, assurance services are defined as independent professional services that improve the quiality of information for decision makers. Examples include: risk assessment, performance measurement, ElderCare (or PrimePlus), WebTrust, SysTrust, e-commerce.

    My hubby asked me last night how he will fall asleep when I am done, because he is SO used to listening to Anita Feller/the Wiley Audiobooks at night.

    Sorry dearest, Anita will be deleted……

    The ONE and ONLY perk to having an 18 year old is that I have a walking (when awake) and talking (when in the mood) dictionary to FML, SMH, LOL, ROFLMAO and the very overused IDK.

    Other than that the kid is an attractive paperweight, god love him.
