Hi everyone. I’m back again and LITERALLY with “another 71.”

My AUD scores so far: 71, 61, 71.

I guess I’ve lost a lot of steam since passing FAR with 85. But I’m going to prepare hard for this next testing period.

Can anyone help give me tips on where to study? Especially for simulations? It was basically financial reporting type things. I have an assessment on how I did from the CPA testers:

Understanding the Engagement (12-16%) —> comparable

    Understanding the Entity (16-20%)

    > weaker

    Procedures and Evidence (16-20%)

    > stronger

    Evaluation and Reporting (16-20%)

    > weaker

Accounting and Review Services (12-16%) –> weaker

    Professional Responsibilities (16-20%)

    > comparable

    Multiple Choice —-> weaker

    Simulations

    > weaker

    I would appreciate any insight.

Ronson, these report are pretty useless and I say this because I got 3 stronger and 3 weaker area (Stronger on last 3 and weaker on first 3 topics). Overall Comparable on MC and Weaker on SIMS yet my score was only in the 60's. So…I wouldn't trust any of what they say. Take it with a grain of salt. Good Luck!

    BEC - 76
    REG- 67, 85
    AUD-63, 74, 80!!
    FAR-65, 62, 57, 79

3 down 1 more to go. BEC is on the Line 🙁

Understanding the Engagement; Understanding the Entity; Professional Responsibilities; accounting and review services.

You need to strive for full understanding of these topics. You need to be able to recite the rules of each type of engagement. I suggest that you verbally walk yourself through every question (within reason, some don't allow for it). You should also be able to explain why the others are wrong.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!

My suggestion is to go back and make a presentation of all of AUD and present it to your co-workers or family. I think this is good because its going to force you to anticipate questions they would ask you so it makes you look at the info differently. I took AUD 3x before I passed and I think what helped me the most was what an Internal Auditor friend of mine said. He told me AUD is process, so once you figure out where you are in the process then you know how to answer the question. I do believe that little nugget changed my approach for the better as I passed with a 76.

Step it up you only got one section left (that should be a huge motivation driver). It would be best to go through ALL of the material again.

I agree with @Spartans I think the score reports are somewhat worthless. If it told you how you did compared to your own previous attempts, that'd be awesome, but it's just telling you how you did compared to other people from that section. Plus, your next exam, while on the same information, is going to be a completely new test. That means you have to earn a whole new 75, not just your base from the last one.

I'd go back over the information as if you hadn't seen it before. Start over.

@bfulcher – Congrat on your high score on AUD & FAR on a tight time line.

May I ask what is your study plan/methodology that got you such high comprehension and high score?

I am on Gleim and spent 4 months on FAR and got 69, just took REG last Saturday, and heading back to FAR for 2nd round.

I would like to gain all effective methods in using time wisely to get a good comprehension.

I plan to review 5 wks and take FAR around mid July then BEC by end of Aug.

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dlu

You just have to start over and hit all areas harder. If you did 2,000 MCQ's then this time do 4,000. If you were averaging a score of 75% last time, then this time accept nothing less than a 85%. You know how to pass a CPA exam so dig in and do it.

On a side note. Delete Facebook from you phone. Cancel dinner plans tomorrow night with Sally. Turn off the NBA game. Cut off the rest of the world.

Be honest with yourself. You know what you need to do.

Everything. You need to study everything. There is no way to determine what you will need for another exam. Good luck!
