For now, I’m young and healthy and can handle stress OK. But, it seems every step up the ladder increases the job-stress quite a bit, and I’m worried that in 15, 20 years when I’m not quite as young, I might not be able to handle the stress quite as well (especially since stress-related medical problems run in my family). I don’t want to drive myself to an early grave just to pay the bills, if I can avoid it. 😐

So it made me wonder – what are the low-stress accounting or accounting-related jobs/careers? Thinking about it myself I thought that teaching college courses – especially in an online environment with pre-designed courses – might be fairly low-stress. Other than that, the only things I thought of were lower-level positions with lower stress (like, an accounting clerk job would be less stressful than an accounting manager or than a CFO). Anyone else have ideas of jobs in or related to accounting that can remain lower stress without being entry-level?
