    Hi everyone,

Just recently passed all the exams and I’m now applying to get my license. I submitted my application to NASBA licensing (AECR) the other day and the next day I got an email saying my application has been closed and information will be held for one year. I haven’t sent my transcripts yet but before I even could, I got that email. I sent an email to NASBA licensing, but still waiting to hear back from them. Anyone run into this situation?

Nope I haven't heard back from them. I tried calling, but it keeps saying “due to the high volume of calls” to provide a name and phone number and they will get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. Its been a day already, this is getting ridiculous. They aren't even responding to my two emails I sent last Wednesday /Thursday..

That's weird. I called AECR (NASBA Licensing) twice last week, they picked up the phone pretty quickly. Did you leave a message for them, sometimes they do call you back.

Finally got an answer a couple of days ago. Turns out I don't need to apply for the AECR since the board has approved my 150 credits. I sent those transcripts before I even took the exams last year so no need for the AECR. Now I'm just waiting to receive the congratulatory letter from NASBA and the board also needs to receive the score from them as well. Anyone know how long it takes to get the congratulatory letter? I took my last exam on 5/30/15 and passed on 6/9/15. Its been over a month….

You are so lucky, brownie! I wish I don't need AECR either. I took the last part on 5/29 and received my letter on 6/26, dated 6/16. You should receive yours soon too. Please keep me posted.

@Brownie – Are you applying under 150 credits + 1 year of experience or 150 + Master's degree? I'm just curious if I'll have to do an ACER if I'm applying under a master's degree since during my application the board cleared me under CMR 2.07(2)(a)(2) which is 150+Masters.

@Zipties – I'm going for the full reporting license so I'm applying under the 150 credits + 1 year of experience. I had already done my Master's degree before I took the exams so when I sent in my transcripts, the board had already approved the 150 credits. Therefore no need for the AECR. Have you completed the master's degree (150 credits) before you sent the application to the board? If so, you will not need the AECR. You can also call the board, that's what I did to be 100% sure.

    Hello all!

I am preparing my application package for the reporting license and realized that my public accounting experience letter that I received from my former employer GT does not have notary public certification. It does include statements regarding the period that I worked there, number of audit hours, signature of the partner and is on firm letterhead.

Has anyone recently sent out the application for the reporting license and received a license without notarized experience letter?

    Thank you,

    Ukrainiangirl

I submitted my application to MA earlier this week, and since I have been at my current firm for less than one year I got letters from two firms and niether one is notarized. The application itself does not state that the letter needs to be notarized. All it says is that it has to be dated within a year and signed by a Partner/Shareholder of the firm and on firm letterhead.
