May need an extra 3cr. auditing course for license. Where to go?

I’ve taken one financial statement auditing class for 3cr as part of my Masters. But I may need 6 auditing credits though to be licensed. So I may need an extra 3cr. auditing course (IT audit, forensic audit,etc.). Does anyone know where I can take one of these classes online at any accredited college/university? Any suggestions? I’m not interested in a degree program, just this one class! Thanks!

Well you can choose one o fthe community colleges near you just for convience and you can take it online. The promixity of the class doesnt really matter obviously, but it just gives you more of a secure feeling in case you have a question where you have to ask someone on campus and etc.

For me, I am taking two online classes for fulfill the education requirement at Chabot College in California. Other options for me are Ohlone College and Foothill College.

I'm confused, you already are licensed. Is this for trying to transfer to another state?

@mla1169, yes. im going for reciprocity in another state. but if they don't accept my license that way (reciprocity), I may have to apply as a new candidate in the state, and this state requires 6 audit credits. so taking this course will be my backup.

I agree with Sammy community colleges in your area are a good idea, or an online program, I needed 6 credits before I could sit 2 business law, 2 tax and 2 auditing I took them online at university of Phoenix. My college changed from trimesters to semesters during my time there and converted all the credits it totally screwed me on some requirements.

@LSNYC, the 30-point increase on your AUD score is astounding. Please share with us some tips/tactics you used. Thanks!

If I were you, instead of driving myself crazy looking up, researching, theorizing, anticipating………..I'd just call the board I was considering transferring to and ask these questions. You had several posts this weekend but really didn't find anything that set your mind at ease.

@mla1169, Thanks. I contacted the state in which I'm seeking reciprocity. They referred me to a licensing specialist at NASBA who said applying for reciprocity in another state with a non-reporting CPA license is OK. I just wanted to make absolutely sure that it's allowed, because if it wasn't I'd have to take an extra 3cr auditing course and apply as a new applicant (I think). Guess you can delete this thread now if my application gets approved 🙂
