Missed My REG Exam

This is my experience with missing an exam. I think all the studying messed with the chemicals in my brain or something. For some reason I thought my exam was scheduled on July 22nd, but it was really scheduled on July 21st. I checked my confirmation multiple times, so I don’t even know what I was thinking. Apparentaly I wasn’t thinking and totally messed up. So after I was done sulking, I called my state board (NC) exam coordinator. She told me to email my name and Section ID to her so that she could forward it to NASBA, and NASBA will waive my “burned” Section ID for a fee of $93.56. This allowed me to use the same Section ID to schedule for REG without having to reapply for another NTS. It took eight hours for NASBA to get back to which was surprisingly quick. I just have to wait 48 hours after I pay to reschedule my REG exam. I am so thankful that I didn’t have to reapply and wait weeks for another NTS. If anyone in North Carolina misses an exam, there is a quicker, cheaper alternative than to take the no-show and reapply. But also keep in mind, my NTS for REG wasn’t going to expire until December, so that might have helped me a bit. I also called the number from the NASBA website, and the lady told me that all I could do was wait 48 hours before reapplying for another NTS which would be usable in the same testing window since it was a no-show and not a failed exam. So if anyone runs into some problems and misses an exam, hopefully your state board can ask NASBA to waive your burned Section ID so that you don’t have to reapply for another NTS. Hope this helps!
