Most cost effective way to learn FAR

I am looking for suggestions on the best way to learn FAR. I am, hopefully, three-quarters through the torture of studying for and taking the CPA exam. Last August my employer purchased the Exammatrix software for me and I have been using that exclusively. Exammatrix does not so much teach you the material – instead it has you take practice tests and you learn from your errors.

This has worked well for me for REG, AUD and BEC because I had a fairly good knowledge of those subjects already. I am now starting FAR and realize that I know very little about the subject and will need more than the Exammatrix software..

My question is, what would be the most cost-effective method of learning FAR? Would it be best to shell out $1,100 to purchase the Becker program, pay $200-$300 to buy used materials on Ebay or use some other method? I hate the idea of spending $1,100 for the new Becker program but, on the other hand, I want to get this over with as quickly and easily as possible. I would appreciate any advice that you could give me.

    Thanks

    REG - 11/5/2012 - 80
    BEC - 1/17/2013 - 76
    AUD - 2/22/2013 - 70 4/5/2013 - 75
    FAR - 5/28/2013 - 75 - Done!!!

Question: What do you call someone who only gets 75's and 76's on the four parts of the CPA exam?

    Answer: A CPA

Well, you could just buy the Wiley book and read through a chapter, do the problems in the book AND use your software. Or maybe look into buying just FAR from one of the popular groups. I think if I were in your place I would be juggling between Yaeger or Roger FAR only lectures (cost effective).

Both Yaeger and Roger have demos that you can view on their websites. You should look at those and see what would fit best with your learning style.

I personally used Becker for my first FAR attempt. As you can see it was a complete failure. The next score was after using Yaeger and the final one was from just using the Wiley book, test bank, Ninja Notes, Ninja Audio, and The flashcards (which I have to say helped me learn the hard concepts really quickly!) Now I'm just going to go insane with it and see what happens. I'm planning on taping notes to my windshield to see if that helps.

    FAR - Bad Fail '11, Fail '12, Fail '13, PASS It's a miracle!
    AUD - Fail, PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC - PASS!!!!!!!!
REG - PASS!!!!!!!! And I'm done!
