Also a victim to the state of California

Really don't want to be forced to take more classes because I am so over this.

I passed regulation and just took BEC yesterday. I plan on taking FAR in October and Audit in November. However, this is my third round at this exam.

I think there have been others that posted this so excuse the plagiarism but the key is to get angry and make it happen. At least that is my motto since I am a repeat offender. My motivation is freedom and I'm hoping that is what Santa will bring me this year!

Good luck to all you California people, that really stinks. I need to pass in 2013 for a different reason. Me and my husband want to start a family soon, I am 26 and he is 29 and he thinks he is getting too old to have kids so he doesn't want to wait much longer. I however do not want to have kids until I pass the exam because I don't think I could do it with a kid. Not to mention that I've heard of pregnancy brain and my 18 months ends in Feb! I do NOT want to retake anything I have passed. 🙂 I know there are plenty of women and men with kids who pass but I have self control issues when it comes to studying anyways so if I had a kid then I would have even more of an excuse to say “I can't study right now…”

I've kind of given up on trying to pass in 2013, I missed FAR by 3 points and I just had in my mind from the beginning if I didn't pass on the first try then it was just not happening. I've now been looking up online community college classes. I think I should start a thread on the easiest, cheapest online classes for CA candidates to take to get their extra units.

I have to say this post does make me consider trying again. Ugh!

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

Yep, definitely suffering the stress of the CA deadline. I've kinda written about it before on other posts, but figured I would contribute to this thread.

I didn't even decide I wanted to be an accountant until less than 3 years ago. I had gone to college in a completely different field and didn't take a single accounting or business class my entire undergrad. I took my very first accounting class in January 2011 and have been pushing along ever since. I had no idea about the upcoming changes when I started and by the time I found out, it was really too late to change my plans. I didn't finish my last class until March of this year. As soon as I got my grades, I applied to sit for the exam. Application process almost took two months… Finally sat for FAR in July, BEC a week ago, and now I'm studying for AUD, then REG.

REALLY hoping I pass all the exams in time because I do NOT want to take any more classes. I feel like I've gone to college twice already. Stressed out though because I know passing them all on the first try is going to be pretty difficult. Pretty convinced I failed BEC.

    FAR 7/3/13 - 82
    BEC 8/21/13 - 82
    AUD 10/2/13 - 92
    REG 12/3/13 - 88

    DONE!!!! CA Candidate

Same boat…But failed REG already so I pretty much just gave up on passing this year …I went thru my transcripts again (the day I found out I failed my first exam) and turns out I just need 5 additional acct semester units to qualify for the new 2014 law…that made me very happy 🙂 I actually already registered at a community college for that one class I need, will be taking it online (I have kids)

Check your transcripts everyone, I actually thought I needed more classes but turns out I don't

Also make sure your ethics courses are exact to title …you can add to the title but cannot take from the title

    example :

This would NOT count : Business leadership vs studies in leadership

This WILL count : Organizational behavior vs organizational behavior & management

We all have the ability to be whomever we want to be in this life. It's just a matter of DETERMINATION, PERSISTENCE, PATIENCE and the WILL to follow through. Never give up!
