My AUD Exam Experience – anybody else feel this way?

    Just got back from taking AUD and my brain is fried. I took the entire 4 hour window. My testlets were medium, hard, medium/hard? I couldn’t tell on the last one as it seemed harder than the first but easier than the second. The simulations I felt good about half of them, hopefully. I had one DRS and one research, so I’m hoping one of the others was a pre-test (crossing fingers).

    The reason I feel like I failed was I kept getting questions on the SAME topic that was barely covered in Becker. I think it literally had one page in the AUD book. I’m frustrated right now and wondering if anybody feels the same way about the AUD exam during this testing window? I’d love to feel better about this lol.

    I left AUD so rattled that prometric called me to say I left my driver's license there. Got an 84.

    OMG me too! I took AUD last Saturday and I got 2 topics on my exam that Becker barely covered, I just sat there laughing. The topic in Becker is literally half a page in Becker lol. I got like 7 questions on that topic 🙂

    @mjbey1s

    I would recommend you look over A6 in Becker especially the professional responsibilities chapter and study the differences between AICPA,PCAOB/SEC, DOL, and IFAC. Thank me later

    Everyone remember that telling what the one topic is that was only covered on 1 page that you had several questions on would be a breach of your agreement….so, mjbey1s, unfortunately no one will be able to help you.

    Any topic in your materials is fair game on these exams, unfortunately. But, AUD has a lot of people who thought they were in trouble post-exam and got 90+ scores, so those pending scores should take hope that they're in the 90+ group! AUD is a trickster that way.

    @Tutthegreat she is not being a wannabe lawyer. If you read the rules of the forum that is noted. Also, Jeff has mentioned multiple times that we are not to disclose what was on the exam because NASBA polices the forum and they get on him about people disclosing what was on the exam.

    If you read my question, I simply asked what chapter I should not overlook. That is definitely not a breach of my contract. Simply asking opinions of what chapters I should focus on right before my exam…

    @waffle_house and Tutthegreat,

    Yes, exactly! So glad I wasn't alone. This definitely gives me more hope lol. I couldn't help but sit there and laugh by the third testlet… Just complete disbelief.

    This was exactly my experience. Took the exam today. The exam just wasn't on the material I studied. Awesome way to spend 160 hours of my life.

    Took AUD yesterday for the second time. First testlet was easy and only flagged like 4 questions. The second one was so ridiculous I don't even know what language it was in. They were asking things I never even heard of or came across in any review materials. I wonder if most review courses questions are outdated or the AICPA is purposely throwing out questions they know aren't covered in any of them.

    My main issue is with the sims because I feel they are a bit misleading and not clear to how they should be answered. I know most of what they're asking, but the way the questions are formatted makes me second guess if I answered some of them correctly or not. Either way I didn't feel good leaving Prometric and wouldn't be surprised if I did worse than my first attempt.

    I remember getting several questions on governance, including audit committee. That area that was covered in detail in the first 15 pages of the Becker BEC book but hardly at all in the Becker Audit book. I ended up passing but I would have made a much better grade if I'd known to read the first chapter of BEC before I took Audit.

    I just got out of AUD exam, this is my 3rd test after bec and far and iam not good at judging wether testlets are getting harder or not.

    I would say i wasnt expecting this kind of exam, topics were limited and far knowledge would be really helpful.

    I cant even tell if i did good or not, but i have a good feeling. I think AUD is the kind of test which u can never be sure of the answers. But i have a good feeling. I might get a 90 or even 60.

    I just hope i wont have to through audit again
