Once I finish the undergrad class I'm in now, I will have all of the education requirements for the Ohio CPA exam finished (bachelor's in finance/account, and I've taken several undergrad accounting classes not needed for the degree to qualify to sit for the CPA). I have worked in corporate accounting for over a year, and expect to spend about a year passing the exams. My boss is not a CPA, and her boss is not a CPA either. I actually have yet to meet anyone in my company (decentralized Fortune 200 company) that is a CPA. I would rather not leave my job for a year just to work directly for a CPA, as I am in line to replace my boss eventually. Reading over the Accountancy Board of Ohio, I found the Statement of Verifying CPA. My interpretation is that I can have someone familiar with my job who is a CPA vouch for me that I do work in accounting by signing the form, and then I don't have to leave my company for a year. Am I correct in this?
