After reading all of your posts concerning SIMS,

I have a feeling that I am going to end up failing the

exam because I mess up on the SIMS part.

Please provide insights as to how to prepare for

that portion of the exam. I am really concerned

    right now.

    CPAs please respond.

The best way to conquer the SIMS is to know the material. It helps to be familiar with the format of the SIMS. I used Gleim books for review. I would say that using the MC questions to study the concepts was the most productive study method for me. I'd answer and read the explanations and keep going over the questions until I understood why I was getting them right or wrong. You can do this!

Practice the SIMS. Plain and simple. The MCQ test your knowledge of the material, but it is limited. The SIMS on the exam cover multiple topics and test your ability to apply your knowledge to various scenarios. SIMS are more in depth than MCQ. I suggest you practice SIMS.

I just took FAR. I thought the MC was extremely manageable compared to the Becker Final Exam!

    Then.

    The SIMS.

    UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you get some partial credit?

They were kind of a disaster.

Regarding AUD sims, I think it is so important to understand the material in order to do well on them. I think experience helps as well, but if you don't have the experience, really understand the concepts, do lots of sims, and also practice using the authoritative literature (it is an amazing tool).

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 88!!! DONE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 76
    REG - 77

    never, never, never give up

Thank you for all of your comments.

It seems to me that practice and repetition are the keywords for success.

Use the authoritative literature tab to ‘research' the answers for all the sims!

It's like an open book test!!!

I've found many answers straight out of the literature.

    REG- 2/12 - 90 | AUD- 4/12 - 94 | BEC- 5/12- 85 | FAR- 8/12 - 82
DONE!!! I used Becker Self Study & Ninja Notes/Audio

Thank you Marks! Did you use the authoritative literature to research how to record certain things or did you use it for some other things?

I'm pretty quick at the MCQ's, usually finishing them in a drop over an hour leaving me plenty of time to research anything I didn't know or wasn't sure of.

Some things I wasn't able to find in the literature, but many times I got questions that I was lost on and I answered them with 100% confidence after seeing the literature! (especially in AUD)
