Hi! I originally planned on taking REG on May 30th but we ended up selling our house and moving TWICE (and implementing a new ERP system at work). I received my NTS back in March which stated I had 90 days to sit. Well, I’m wanting to schedule it now for July 15th but on the TSBPA website, I don’t have the option to apply for REG? Will I have to wait until it expires on June 21 or what? I’d ask my rep about it but at this point, but he’s worthless.

    FAR - 87 2/18/14
    AUD - 84 4/2/14
    REG - 87 7/23/14
    BEC - 78 8/26/14

I'm finally an *official* CPA - TX

You can't apply for a new one till 6/22 after the one you have has expired.

There was somebody a while ago here who wondered if they could have their NTS cancelled, but I don't know if they ever got or posted an answer. But that is one idea.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

If the NTS expires its okay you can still apply for a new one. It's only when you have “registered” with prometric to take an exam in the testing window is when you have to be concerned about letting that appointment expire if you don't cancel the appointment.

    Example

If my NTS expires Aug 20th but I have not booked an appointment with Prometric. I can let that expires and reapply for a new one to be able to sit the exam Aug 30th.

Same example but this time I have made an appointment with Prometric for Aug 19th. I would need to “cancel” the appointment and then only can I use my new NTS to book an appointment for Aug 30th.

If I didn't cancel the Aug 19th appointment, that is deemed as if I took the exam “no Show”

Hope this helps and makes sense.

My friend just asked for an extention, said she was I'll, they extended it for free. She said it was not an issue at all and easy.
