Does NASBA typically take the full 2 weeks to issue a NTS on a first time application? Coming up on 2 weeks soon, and nothing yet. It is driving me nuts. I want get my test scheduled for early August…

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 83
    BEC - 77
    REG - 70, 78

Now what the hell do I do?

Yes – my first one took a while.

Additional section NTS only took a day or 2.

    I'm in CT.

Mine took 1.5 weeks. I had my transcript sent right after completing my application so it was fast. I'm in NY btw.

I hear it usually takes about a month. Good luck!

Did you send all the additional information at the same time as you submitted your application? They may mean 2 weeks from when they receive your transcritpts, etc. – which may take longer depending on how fast your University sends them after you request them to be sent. I don't remember, I sumitted my original application 2.5 years ago, but just my thought on why it may be taking longer.

Not to discourage anyone, but mine took over 3 months to be fully processed. They needed me to re-send the form that my school was to fill out listing my current classes since the school had sent the copy, not the original. The only reason that's frustrating on NASBA's part is because they had said I would receive my NTS…and then I waited another month, and they said “oh wait, we need a new form.” Like, you couldn't have noticed it was a copy the FIRST time you looked at it?! Grr.

It will all work out, just be patient. 🙂

Yes. I submitted my transcripts my self on the same day of my application. My application status has been “EVALUATE – your application appears to be complete, blah blah blah” Been like that since July 7th.

If I don't get to schedule my exam this window I'll go ape shit.

I had to resend a transcript which they claimed was “lost in the mail”. Why not take responsibility and say they lost it in their own office?

Now I too am waiting for the evaluation.

Instead of catching a flight to Nashville and going “postal” in their office, I decided to study FAR in addition to BEC. It's not like I am ready to take all four parts. There is lots more to study. So I am not wasting time.

It took 4 weeks for them to approve my application and issue my initial NTS. I read somewhere that approval times are taking longer this quarter due to them receiving more applications than normal.

Maybe try calling them? The guy I spoke with was nice and answered all of the questions I had (especially when my online application status was ATTSENT for a week).

Can you not take/schedule the exam prior to sending in the transcripts?

    Thanks!

6 weeks total for my initial application. Mine was delayed because they were waiting on a transcript from a school I began attending in the same month. It took 2 weeks once processing began. My application wasn't going anywhere until I called.

Unfortunately no. Unlike the CMA, which exams you can take whenever you want.

The CPA's have a mafia-like lock on not just licensing, but testing too.

Who cares if you don't have the units or college degree yet? What difference does that make in whether you pass or fail?

The NASBA and prometric make money either way.

NASBA still hasn't confirmed receipt of my final transcript which was sent by my school on June 18. I emailed a few days ago and they said to check back in a week.

I guess I still have until 9/30 to make sure they get the transcript, but how horrible would it be to have a passing score voided for failing to get the final transcript in within 60 days?

    @ syoung

How were you able to schedule REG without NASBA approving your application?

How would it be possible to lose a score due to a lost transcript if you need that transcript to take the test to begin with?

I'm provisionally approved. I'm not sure how it works in other states, but in Colorado you can apply during last semester of your undergraduate degree (I graduated May 2014 and degree didn't post until June, but was still allowed to apply in May).

Your school has to send in a verification of enrollment stating you have applied to graduate at end of semester and confirming your class registration. You agree to send in a final transcript with the courses and degree posted within 60 days of taking your first exam, otherwise they can void your score.

It just allows you to get the registration out of the way early.
