Nasba is making me nervous…

I just got my score notification email for BEC, and there are still expiry dates on the report. I was hoping to rid myself of FAR “expires 7/31/14”! They all say “credit” but why do they keep the expiry dates there? It just scares me to think they’ll take away my credits.

Maybe they do that because some states require ethics. Do you know, in your state, if you have to pass the ethics exam before the 18 month window is up?

Good question! No ethics exam required here.

The ethics thing wouldn't have anything to do with NASBA and the credit expiration date. Two separate entities, two separate processes. I'd just make sure your online NASBA account shows 3 credits and one pass. Then you should be good to go. For what it's worth, I've been licensed for almost 3 months, and I still show expiration dates.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

yeah I continued to show expiration dates until I was licensed as well, like Gator said as long as you show 3 credits and one pass you're good to go.

And no offense, but change your username. Gawd, they've let us down this year! Keep hoping for another “worst to first” but its getting late to pull THAT off.

OK, I see 3 credits and a pass. Phew!

mla 1169, lol, c'mon they're only the second to the worst team in the AL so far. There's plenty of games left in the season so it's too early to write them off. I think they just need another inspirational talk from Ortiz.

I hope you're right redsoxfan! I usually go down fighting for them, but this year…….I'm not feeling it.

ok so I didn't realize until this morning that I'd rather sit for another exam than go through this application process with Nasba. I need to register a different email address than my existing one???? really??? I thought requesting 3 character references was annoying, now I have to go through all this crap to get my license.

Got an email but not sure if it means i don't need to send in my transcripts or if it's taken care of. The “no action needed” is throwing me off.

    What do you think?

Your CPA examination file containing your official transcripts needed for evaluation has been requested from CPA Examination Services to be sent to the licensing department for evaluation. NO ACTION NEEDED.

Redsoxfan – I think you need to wait for them to review your application etc and then they will let you know if its all completed etc.

Like I don't know the process for your state but mine is a merry go round.

    1. I know I am lacking in credits but I still have to apply for the license

IE do the ethics exam, the criminal record back ground check, pay the licensing fee etc

Then only will they do the evaluation to let me know what I need to do to bridge the GAP. IE do I need to take specific courses or random courses of my choosing.

If you sent transcripts to the CPA Examination Services, you shouldn't need to send them to the state. At least that is my experience here in Ohio. They told me they expect that file mid to late June. I'd hoped it would be earlier, since it looks like they only issue licenses on the 15. Guess I'm waiting until July.

Bronx, Well I haven't given up on the red sox, there's plenty of games left in the season.

Kenada, right, this process isn't easy, and it's darn expensive!

I'll send in my transcripts anyway since I already paid 10 bucks for them.

I wonder how much the annual member ship fees are ?

Like for my UK one I pay 200 pounds a year and for Canada its 900 CDN a year.

I haven't even yet looked at the cost of CPE credits, I have no clue even how many to attain. I hope it doesn't require a lot of time to accumulate them.

They're just keeping you apprised of the progress– you already sent in your transcripts in order to take the exam, and now those will be sent on to the licensing department.

Thoughtful of them to let people know, but it probably causes more confusion than assurance!
