Need Extra Courses for CPA Exam

    I am finishing up my MBA in Accounting in December. I have an undergrad in business. I will have the correct number of credits but need masters level classes in audit and tax (I did not take them and was not really looking into the CPA until now). Has anyone went back to school to get a few classes that they needed to fulfill the education requirement? Any suggestions for online courses? I plan on taking them once I pass the exams so it may be a little bit of time. I already have the experience requirement. In case it matters I live in NJ.

    I live in Jersey too, online classes are good if you don't have time to commute to school and they are slightly cheaper. Although not all classes are offered online and most are seasonal

    |FAR| - 72, 83
    |AUD| - 73, 76
    |REG| - 76
    |BEC| - 73, 82

    ALL DONE!!

    I took a few online classes from University of Phoenix to meet the education requirements to sit for the exam (my work reimbursed otherwise they are quite expensive). I am planning to take the remaining classes for the license from the following:

    * LSU

    * UNA PAPP – can only find 1 class that is not similar to what I already have taken

    * WGA

    There are a few more options / alternatives listed on another post on this site which I was unable to find at this time. The classes from the schools I mentioned above were the cheaper ones and offered online courses. Hope it helps!

    I had to go back for 24 upper level accounting credits to sit for the exam and will have to take 12 additional credits to be licensed. My business degrees didn't cover the required upper level accounting classes for the CPA. For the first 24 I chose to go to a local university and attend class because the online courses at the time were outrageously priced. I wasn't willing to pay that much for convenience. However, since joining this forum I have read about the extension program at UCLA and the Louisiana State online program. I will pursue those for my remaining 4 classes because they were comparable in price to the local university and I really don't feel like sitting in a classroom anymore. Check those two out. The only drawback is that the course selection may be limited to classes that we have already taken.

    CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!
