Taking FAR on Friday (2.5 days) and its my last part. Used Becker but only had about 5 weeks to study for it. Ive gone through all the material and have been redoing MCQ for the past few days but only getting 60-70% correct while I went into the other 3 tests getting 80+ %. I haven’t redone any sims. Should I just do as many MCQ until test day or should I take the time to review sims?

I suggest you take time to do the SIMS.

Not to confuse you but I'd go the opposite and say focus on multiple choice.. It's the concepts that matter more than anything with the SIMS. Know your journal entries!!

You already did the sims once, don't waste time on them. You either get it or not, so move on.

Focus on MCQ, people here advised me to focus on MCQ and I think it's the best way.

Appreciate all the advice. The sims I did for chapters 1-5 were all 3-4 weeks ago so not so sure I remember them so well but I guess ill go back if i get sick of MCQ.

We are in the same spot! I am taking FAR on Thursday too.. My Becker progress tests of 30 MCQ's have been fluctuating between 60% and 90% with the most common around 75%-83%. I am hoping it is enough to pass.. This exam is a BEAST.

Has anyone else had these same scores and walked away with a passing score? I am looking for a little confidence booster.

yup and yup except I havent managed to get through all the chapters so I kow Im not passing this time around. Oh well. 🙂 If I were in your shoes, I would spend one day reviewing SIMS and then the rest of the time reviewing journal entries and IFRS/GAAP differences

@ Future MO CPA keep me posted on how it goes and good luck. you should have a good shot if you are around 80% on becker. I'm closer to 60-65% on becker at this point so will have to spend the next 2 days pounding out MCQ. no time for gaap/ifrs differences, will have to wing it.

Ahh, Thanks! I plan to spend all day today going over MCQ's, SIMS and doing the 2nd final practice test this afternoon/evening. I got a 62.4% on the first Becker Final Exam.. Ugh. But, I have seen a lot of people on here that get 58ish, and still walk away with an 80 on the actual. I am hoping that is the case for me!

Either way, hopefully the 2nnd practice exam score will increase my confidence.

Hi guys!

I'm also same boat!!!! taking FAR this Saturday and haven't gotten to all the chapters/material…. I've been trying to study but then when I go back to beginning of materials… I've forgotten it all!!!! frustrated for sure!

For the ones who taken FAR… besides MCQ's what should I focus on? any advice? Gov. and NFP perhaps?
