    Hey,

I have my 3 years bachelors from India and I also have an one year Distance leaning degree from India. I cant use latter degree from NY/NJ state but can use that degree in other state to get to 120 credits.I am currently pursuing Macc from NY state and I have been awarded scholarship and have been asked if I want to change my degree from Macc to MBA as I will have only 120 credits after I am done with MS and I wont be eligible to get license from NY state. I would want to do job in NY after my course but I am not sure what would be the best decision for me :((((.

so, do you think I should sit for the exam from other state and then get it transferred to NY( don’t know if that’s easy or not)

OR should I change my MACC to MBA Accounting???

    Guys please help!!!!

Please explain more about how changing from Macc to MBA affects your college credits and/or which state you're eligible for. I'm not sure that I understand.

Also, I recommend checking with the NY Board of Accountancy website to find out what is involved in changing your license from one state to another.

I might recommend just testing through another state, then transfer the license, but you'll have to look at the details of doing that.

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

What above said, transfer a license. There's no point transferring just the exam scores — you're still required to comply with the NY licensing requirements if you transfer exam scores.

    BEC - PASS (79)
    AUD - PASS (63, 71, 74, 74, 83)
    REG - PASS (88)
    FAR - PASS (58, 89)

Becker for all + FAR 10 Point Combo

Thanks for your replies!!! well currently I have bachelors with 93 hours and post graduate diploma-Distance leaning(No credits by NYS) and I am currently pursuing MAcc at st. John's University,NY which will give me 30 credits.

I have emailed state board of my many states to address my query about distance learning but I know Montana does accept DL courses.

Rest, My professor(vice president of my department as well) said he can help me get my degree changed to MBA accounting from Macc and I can easily sit from New york state only as I will have 60 credits from the university and there would be no worries in future. So, the question is still is it worth changing it to MBA?( though I ll get scholarship for the course).
