AUD did give me a big headache and pressure after I failed twice with 60 and 59. I really felt the MCQ was easy and straightforward but it turned out bad result(weak and comparable in MCQ). I used Becker and I do believe Becker covered 99% of topics in MCQ but not SIMs. The first time, I roughly read the text and practiced twice of the HW. The second time, I read the text again and redo the HW. I registered for third time already but I don’t want start reviewing it again without any good suggestion cauz I really feel depressed on the AUD and cannot figure out a good way. Anyone? Please help me…

How quickly are you finishing your exam? I wonder if you are rushing through the questions and missing key words that change the meaning, like it's one about issuers and you miss that and answer about non-issuers, or it's asking about a review and you accidentally answer thinking about audit.

I'm not sure what Becker homework is like, but it's important to get a test bank so you can practice lots of questions and see where those pitfalls are for you. Becker homework may not be preparing you enough for that part of the ordeal.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Have you tried the Ninja Audio lectures? It was my total lifesaver for AUD, because it's all about how much you can memorize. You have to put in the time and study your review course material, but the Audio REALLY helps solidify the information. He uses funny stories and mnemonics that kinda help things “stick”. I studied a topic first and then listened Audio lecture on that topic. And then listened over & over & over whenever I could – even 10 minutes at a time. Good luck!

    AUD: 84 - Oct. 2013
    BEC: 83 - Feb. 2014
    REG: 91 - May, 2014
    FAR: 68, 96 - Oct. 2014...DONE

I have had very good luck with reading ninja notes and flashcards in addition to my regular review course. Think of the extra purchase as an investment instead of an additional expense.

    AUD - PASS

    FAR - PASS

    REG - PASS

    BEC - PASS

BEC: 5/21/14 82! PASSED HALF WAY THERE!
    FAR: 4/2/15 80! Almost there!
    AUD: 69, 74, 4/3/14 81! PASSED
    REG: TBD

I recalled several things from the NInja Audio while taking my exam. Also, for the SIMS you need to look up every question in the AL, not just the research questions. You will find some answers word for word just by searching in the AL.

I found out that I had the weakness on SIMs. According to the two times tests, I feel like I missed some similar questions. Is there SIMs u can suggest that I can practice on. Thanks everyone.

I'm taking AUD for the third time next week, and I've struggled the the SIMS too. Try to look up everything in the AL, lots of times you can find answers there. Make sure you have a really solid understanding of things from MCQ, which will at least give you a fighting chance on answering some of the SIM questions right. The NINJA MCQ has been really helpful for me. There's something like 80 SIM questions, and they've really challenged me and they have good explanations for the answers (unlike Becker). Might be worth a try for less than $50..

    Good luck!

    A - 67, 64, 92!!
    R - 61, 75!
    B - 80!
    F - 68, 78!! DONE!

Audit was the easiest test to pass for me for a plethora of reasons but I think the key is to take a step back and UNDERSTAND the logic behind the answers, not just know/memorize the answers. If you do this you can be more confident that you'll be able to reason your way through whatever questions the exam throws at you on test day.

When it's all said and done, before you take the exam you should be able to explain the concepts of audit to someone else. I used my husband as my victim 🙂

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions. I met a lot of financial reporting questions in AUD SIMs( I passed FAR) however I forget some FAR concepts… @CPA4birthdaypresent u r right, I definitely need go back to Becker books to capture the logic behind.
