    Hi guys,

I need some motivation to start studying for audit. I would really like to get it done by early feb, before busy season.

I just find audit so boring and am having a hard time getting myself started.

Any suggestions on how to approach audit? How many hours do you think I need to get in?

    Thanks!!

I feel you DeeDee. I took the holidays off and now it's murder to get back into it.

I think what really helps is setting up a routine. Block off time and just get it done. I think of it almost like setting aside time to work out.

Everyday, from 8pm to 11pm is CPA Study time. Make sure you're free from distractions, if you're using an online review course, I don't wanna see you having 3 or 4 tabs open – bouncing between social media and the Ninja MCQs! Leave your phone in your pocket, use some good headphones if you've got 'em, etc.

    Far: 49
    BEC: 79 (Expired)
    AUD: 51, 67, 64
    REG: 59, 64, 59, 69

Take FAR first, then you will crush the AUD sims.

I'm in the same boat. I've been dragging myself through Becker and have somehow managed to make it thru A2. Planning to take AUD at the end of Feb. Audit is just not interesting to me in the least bit. I'm worried I'm not retaining anything. But I have to pass because I dont want to have to study for this boring section again.

I should have taken FAR first, but I already had my NTS before someone told me that little secret so I'm stuck

Thanks for the support guys!! It's nice to know I'm not going through this alone. I wish I read this earlier – I applied for my NTS yesterday for AUD (thought I would have more motivation if I scheduled the exam) and already received it today. Now I'm thinking I should have applied for FAR instead..oh well, too late.

@Kettlepot – I'll be using your advise starting tonight!

    @CororetteCPAintheMaking – we got this!!

One thing is for sure: don't get comfortable with the fact that it's still January. Study like tomorrow is always the day of your exam… Get that sense of urgency and get rid of that procrastination…

    BEC - PASS (79)
    AUD - PASS (63, 71, 74, 74, 83)
    REG - PASS (88)
    FAR - PASS (58, 89)

Becker for all + FAR 10 Point Combo

After years of procrastination I have finally learned that once I start I can't stop. I took FAR last Saturday and started studying for AUD on Monday. I'm starting to get used to having no life and devoting all my free time to the exam. I decided to take a break after a 74 on FAR last year and it turned into a 6 and a half month break. Just keeping pushing forward!

I'm with CTM on this one. I need to keep on pushing through or I might take another six month break. My motivation comes from making sure I never have to study for FAR again, and hoping the F5 key would change the 74 to a passing score on AUD. I don't know how to give Deedee the burning desire to murder the exams, but I would say imagine having to study for the exam all over again.

Scarecrow AUD sims after FAR are not a given. The sims were the only things that kept me from passing AUD.

    BEC - 87
    AUD - 74, 92
    REG - 82
    FAR - 65, 85
