Needing to find some zen with my AUD fail

So my last test to be done with the CPA exam was AUD and I moved it back a few times due to having my baby on 4/8. Well, it wasn’t as easy a go with having him and trying to study and I got a miserable 70. I was so hoping to go back to work next week and tell everyone that I have a healthy kiddo and finally passed the CPA. Now I am worrying over having only two windows to pass AUD before losing credit on my FAR (I don’t want to take that one ever again). Not to mention I am feeling less than supported at home by my fiancée and he just got offered a new (and substantial) job with a neighboring health system so time is constrained for us both (we are now a blended family of four boys). I just was hoping for some encouragement and kind words since I am feeling like I am on the ledge and no one gets the stress and letdown of a failing exam score like the A71 family…

    AUD - 89
    BEC - 83

    REG - 86
Finally done - many thanks to Jeff and A71!

    F - 5/8/13 81
    R - 74, 2/7/14 86
    B - 74, 12/6/13 82
    A - 70, 11/4/14 89!!!

I'm done 🙂 Many thanks to Jeff, A71 and Roger CPA!!!

You will be just fine, you scored a 70 on the previous attempt!!!

Just do the basics right, and you will get a 75 next time around. Time management, reading the call of the question correctly and doing decent on simulations will get you through.

Okay, well I just read Jeff's thread on recovering from a failed exam and I need to own up to the 70 I earned and knock it out come early July. I appreciate his candidness and apt humor for failing the exam and taking it on again in the next round 🙂 What would I do without this site?? Thanks Jeff!

raymondsfamily, kudos to you for sticking with it!! Sitting for AUD with such a tiny baby?? That is not easy. I wouldn't have even attempted that. I think a 70 is pretty respectable given that you would have been studying while in your third trimester and in the month after your new baby was born. Those were the times in my life when I was the most exhausted and sleep deprived. I would not have been able to prep for an exam. So I say good job! You'll knock it out of the park next time.

I hope your fiancé is able to support you more because that sure does make all the difference in the world. If not, are grandparents nearby? Take advantage of whatever help you have available. You're so close! Once it's done, it's done!

    AUD - 74, 87
    REG - 77
    FAR - 63, 82
