Hi all, I have a few questions about the forms we need to submit to NYSED once we have passed all exams and have the required work experience. I’ve emailed the state, but haven’t heard back in over a week now. Can anybody clarify?

As background, I live, work, went to school, and passed all CPA exams in New York State.

1.) Question 16 on Form 1 asks where my CPA grades will be sent from if I passed them in another jurisdiction. I assume I leave this blank? But do I have to do anything to transmit official grades from NASBA, other than writing them on question 13 of Form 4?

2.) Question 20 of Form 1, I’m a US citizen, do theyrequire a photo copy of my passport? The line about including your passport if you don’t need a Visa to get into the US confused me.

3.) Question 12 of Form 4, I have 150 hrs through my MBA, I don’t know if that means that I’m waiving one year of experience under Sec. 70.2(a)(c). I’m claiming one year of public experience with my current job.

4.) General question about Form 2, on the top of this form, it says to complete this form only if I went to school outside of the US, or passed the CPA exams in another state. Is Form 2 not the correct form I need to use in order to submit my bachelors and masters transcripts from my school? Or do I just request my school to send the transcripts to the NYSED without a form from NYSED?

    Thank you for you help

    1) Yes. This is only if you passed your exams in another state. Unless you took exams in another state, then you will need to fill this out. I didn't have to do anything regarding my grades being sent from NASBA to the State Board but you may want to email cpaes-ny@nasba.org and have them release your transcripts.

    2) You are a US citizen. Don't worry about it.

    3) If your school has a qualifying education program to meet the 150 credit requirement, you only need 1 year.

    4) See question #1 to have your transcripts forwarded. You don't need a form 2 if you did all your schooling in the US.

    FAR - PASSED!
    REG - PASSED!!
    BEC - PASSED!!!
    AUD - PASSED!!!!

Pending license - COME ON NYS BOA!
