I just got an email from the NH Board Administrator at NASBA and my application is deficient because of my work experience. I called before I sent in my application and the CSR I spoke with couldn’t give me a great answer. Below are the requirements that I copied straight from the state board. I wasn’t sure if I should send all of my public experience or just one year that shows I meet the requirement. We are REALLY slow in the summer so my first year I didn’t hit the mark and the second I did. I was short 1.7 hours for the 2 years I presented. Below where it says “each years’ experience” is what had confused.

Should I just have sent them one year that hit 1,500? That was my thought, but the explanation I got from NASBA seemed different. I emailed them to clarify, but I was hoping to hear someone else’s experience.

    c. A minimum of one year’s experience in accounting for an

For full-time accounting employees, each year’s experience shall consist of 12 calendar months as an employee under the direction of a licensed CPA, CA, CPC or other equivalent foreign designation holder, and shall include at least 1,500 hours of service solely involving the use of accounting or auditing skills, as defined in Ac 302.04(a)(1)a. – f.
