I failed FAR last month with a score of 61. I felt that I did solid on the MCQ but terrible on the SIMs. My firm has paid for the Becker review. Do you guys think Ninja would be a good source to get new questions to reinforce these materials? Also, how are good are the notes.

I’m thinking about getting the 10 point combo bundle for all 4 parts since it is a great deal, and I honestly don’t mind spending the money if it is going to help me pass.

    Thanks

Used Becker for FAR the first three times (50, 70, 68)…then added Ninja for last time, finally passed with an 81. I definitely think it's worth it. I found I was memorizing Becker questions, also Ninja has different SIMS that I felt prepared me for FAR .

Doing MCQ is all well and good but if you don't have the context for the concepts you are going to struggle. At a certain point you're not going to learn anything doing the same MCQ over and over and over again (I know with FAR, I got to the point where I could pick out the correct answer just after reading the first couple of words of a question).

I started with Becker. Any section that I was comfortable with, I did a minimum of 2 times. Any concept I needed to reinforce, I did at least 3 times (some sections I did even more). At a certain point I paid money for the Ninja MCQ just to get some new questions and supplemented my Becker with Ninja. I think it helped even though there was a lot of overlap in questions.

But, again, you really need to understand the fundamentals of FAR concepts. Hammering MCQ over and over will only get you so far if you don't understand the concepts behind it.

For my Far retake, I am doing ALL the ninja questions and going to try REALLY hard to get through them enough times to get each one correct and reach the review phase. My main goal is to keep my score in the mid 80's. And I will probably do 10-20 practice sims, just to reinforce the concepts.

    Good luck!!!

I'm curious as well to peoples' opinions. Long story short, I was scheduled to take FAR right before Thanksgiving but I had a personal issue come up. Do you guys think it would be worth it to supplement with Ninja MCQ just so I'm looking at something new for my second go around at it? I've been using only Becker so far.

    BEC - 80 (Becker)
    AUD - 92 (Becker+NINJA MCQ)
    FAR - 87 (Becker+NINJA MCQ)
    REG - 90 (Becker+NINJA MCQ and Audio)

Since you can't take the exam until January (at the earliest), Ninja MCQ might be the way to go. Especially if you've gone through Becker enough times where you recognize the question based on the first couple of words.

You don't want to get into a position where you're simply memorizing answers and forgetting concepts. That's when Ninja MCQ works best because it's a whole new pool of questions (with some overlap).

Ninja for FAR is awesome. I was floundering around 5 days before my exam and ninja gave me a great boost. To be honest the way it helped me the most was that it made studying fun. I loved the format as a change up to my boring gleim course, I loved the links to definitions and other material and most of all I loved clicking on a ninja star every time i answered. I even started writing notes in just Black and Blue!

    Audit(11/5/13) - 89
    Reg(5/16/14) - 86
    FAR(7/18/14) - 82
    BEC(11/14) - 85
