    NINJA Question –

Anyone out there taken a practice exam in the NINJA MCQ?

I took one for BEC and got a 78% overall score……I feel happy about it, but should I be pushing for a minimum of 85% here as well?

Anyone else have any experiences or opinions on this?

    Jeff, what are your thoughts?

I have. I think the 85% is only in the practice mode. I can't get higher than a 70% in the practice tests but I have a trending score of about 85% right now. I'm re-working MCQs instead because I prefer to work over the “trouble” questions and ones I “missed last time”. Hopefully my strategy works. My exam is Saturday.

I took 1 practice exam in Ninja for REG. I scored a 92%. I usually feel like I am ready for the exam when I am in the upper 80s. I have usually scored a little higher on the actual exams than I need though, so I can see where some could argue that you may be ready with practice exams scores that are a bit lower.

    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88

I just took one for FAR and scored an 80%. I think I remember Jeff saying that the practice exams in Ninja are weighted closer to AICPA standards than just a straight out percentage like Wiley/Becker. If so, I'm not sure what an 80% means as far as preparedness. I'm trending at about 91% overall, but I've also gone through all of the questions at least twice (some far more than twice) so I'm sure that has something to do with it…

    Has anyone else taken one?

I've completed 4 tests and the highest score was a 74%. I'm in trouble Saturday if taxgeek's right.

How many questions do you guys usually do at once?

    REG - ✔
    AUD - ✔

I read back at some posts and I think the weighted thing has to do with the CSOs. In other words, the content of the practice exams follows the percentages of each subject the AICPA has indicated they will test on (i.e. 8-12% Not-for-profit accounting, 8-12% Governmental, etc.). You might go over your performance report for each practice exam and see if there are any areas in which you're consistently missing questions, and focus on those for a day or so.

Feeling defeated…after studying for a month, and doing Ninja MCQs for 10 hours today/yesterday, I'm now trending at 72%. It was 77% a few quizzes ago. I'm doing 30 at a time, take a break, have a smoke, and back at it. When I started, my tests were consistently 70%. Now, they are consistently at 83%. It's annoying because the crap that I'm missing is stupid specific. I'm seeing people getting actual scores pretty close to their trending scores, so needless to say that I'm worried. My only consolation is the test isn't % correct, so a 70% correct might translate into a 90 for all I know, lol.

Any recent experiences with trending score vs. actual score on BEC? Test tomorrow at noon, btw 🙂

Thanks, Jeff! I just took another test and got a 90, trending score up to 79. Interestingly enough, I've been re-reading a chapter in the Roger book between each test over the last few hours, and the last chapter left is IT. The one trending average that is still below a 70 is IT.
