    NINJA Question –

    Hi all,

I’ve so far taken FAR and BEC. Passed FAR easily with minimal studying and relatively confident that I will pass BEC once the scores are released on the 21st. Studied for both sections simultaneously (around 5-6 weeks) and sat for them within 2.5 weeks of each other. I now have REG scheduled for August 30th.

I have been using old Wiley Books (2013) and Wiley test bank (latest version) exclusively. One of the problems I encountered with FAR is that given the tremendous amount of information, by the time I got to the end of the book, I was forgetting information covered in the earlier chapters.

I tried using the Wiley Focus Notes, but to be completely honest, I found them to be incoherent and useless (love everything else Wiley though). I have an audit background, never worked it tax, so I think REG may be more challenging for me than the other sections which came quite naturally.

Has anyone else used Ninja Notes for Regulation either by itself or as a supplement? The price is very good. I would appreciate any feedback or information on how it helped streamline your studying or increase scores. Thanks.

My must-have from Ninja is the Ninja Audio. However, I did use Ninja Notes for REG and found them helpful, especially since they are updated for Q3 2014 and my Wiley book is not. Ninja Audio and Ninja Notes are essentially the same content, just one is audio and the other visual (I even used them together for REG by listening to his audio while I had the notes up on the screen and following along with him). I think he might even make Ninja Audio by reading the Notes?

They are organized very well and boil things down to little fact nuggets that help you remember them.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Ok, thanks. I saw the REG audio also. Any recommendations as to whether to buy REG audio or notes? I will only purchase one…

If you don't process things well just by hearing them and are more visual, you'd probably want the notes. However, I'm definitely more visual, and the audio really helps me (1) because I can use it to study at times that something visual won't work, like when I'm driving, and (2) because I listen to it so many times that it's okay that I'm not an auditory learner. I also repeat things back to Jeff if I find myself zoning out and not listening. But I listen to the Ninja Audio whenever I drive, so it sinks in and helps drive the concepts home.

Try coupon code HiYa– it used to give 15% off. Also try the free samples he has so that you can get a better idea before you buy.
