No-show makes NTS expire?

    I am just wondering, can you schedule an exam and purposely not go to let your NTS expire? I want to schedule FAR on 10-18, but I don’t want to wait until my NTS expires in September before I can have a chance to schedule it, cause by that time it likely will be difficult to schedule for the time and date that you ideally want to.

    Why not just go and take the exam? Even if you bomb it, you're no worse off.

    Depending on your Prometric location, they may assess you a fee for a no-show, and then not let you schedule again until you've paid it. Just schedule it, and go take it. Click through the exam and leave if you want. There's no reason not to unless your Prometric is super far away.

    I've no showed twice before and was never charged a fee.

    I suppose I could take it during the third wave in August, and get my score on September 9. Though that will be cutting it close if I wait until then to schedule FAR for real on the week of October 13-18. But if a no-show does not get rid of your old NTS, then I suppose taking it might be best to just take the exam in August before the old NTS expires.

    You can try and call and see if they will cancel the NTS you have now. I know I saw on the forum where someone did that with no questions asked so they didn't have to wait for their current NTS to expire.

    I tried to cancelled my NTS this week and I was told that they can't do it unless there is death in the family, you was hospitalized or you was deployed….and they don't reissue new NTS until old one expires…. Pain in the butt! I live in IL, so this is how we do things here:( Very strict..

    Here in Georgia if you no show then your NTS is voided/expired so its like throwing $200-300 down the drain.

    Why not just take the exam and see what happens. You might get lucky.
