Non-public accounting CPAs: How do you manage your CPE credits?

I was wondering for anyone who has their CPA but left public accounting: How do you manage your CPE credits/organize taking them (best practices I guess) and how long have you/do you plan on keeping your CPA while not in public? Did you join AICPA or your state chapter? I left public after a few years to become the CFO of a school (better schedule with my wife who also works in a school) and am just curious to hear from people not in public about their intentions, how they use their certificate, etc. Thanks in advance!

@Michael I am a state employee and my agency does not cover the cost of membership or CPEs. I joined the AICPA and they have a product (for the lack of a better word) called CPExpress and it offers CPE hours for a set price. Also KPMG and Deloitte has free webinars that can earn you CPEs. https://www.cpa2biz.com/AST/Main/CPA2BIZ_Primary/Tax/Research/PRDOVR~PC-BYF-XX/PC-BYF-XX.jsp

I don't have a CPA, but am required to have 80 hours of CPE every two years (same as a CPA in FL) because I'm a federal auditor. We have a local IIA chapter in our area that does luncheons and seminars. I attend almost all of those. Also a great way to be networking with other firms in the area.

I work in Atlanta, and the big 4 usually has annual seminars (free) that are 8 credits each. My company is invited each year, so that takes up a majority of ours.
