So I am answering a gleim cost question, and I have to decide whether a “factory foreman” is part of direct labor. WTF! I don’t know about factory foreman and what the hell they do!!! so of course I get it wrong cause I guessed they are part of making the final product. I just had to vent on this site cause I am very tired this morning and I shouldn’t have to know what in the world a factory foreman is at 5:30am!!!!!

But now I know…..Factory Foreman have nothing to do with making the product!

does it say what factory foreman are a part of?

I would think they are part of overhead via indirect labor

A foreman oversees (oversee the job, think overhead) the job in the factory and makes sure everything runs smoothly. They are not DIRECTLY involved with making the product itself, thus not part of direct labor. Machine maintenance and inspections are also not part of DL.
