Not showing up on exam day

Hi everyone. FIrst of all I’m sorry if this question has been asked before but I am too stressed and disappointed to search for it. The problem is simple…I registered for two sections very close to each other and ended up having only about a month or so to study after taking the first exam. I scheduled for the second exam…FARS at the absolutely last day they allow according to my NTS and still had only about a month and half. And we all know in reality that really isn’t a month and half. I am absolutely not at all ready for the exam and don’t plan on showing up to the exam. My question is..if I don’t show up, the worst that can happen is I fail correct? There’s no point in “cancelling” it because they’re trying to charge me $35.00 for that…Is it okay if I just don’t show up? Thanks and good luck to you all.

Or you could cram with whatever time you can make and increase your odds of passing somewhere above 0%. Practice if nothing else. You paid for the exam, don't waste it.

    BEC- Waiting 7/23/13

No way should you skip. First of all, how many times have you heard on A71 people reporting they got repeat simulations from a previous attempt? Seeing active questions is reason enough alone to go. Just have a pressure-free go at it and see how it goes.

I will take your advice but I'm only going to scope the exam out. These past few weeks I've been studying for it (FARS) as if I'm preparing for some Accounting 101 college exam. Need to learn from my mistakes. Meatball..how did you score 99 on Aud? I've never worked in Audit. What strategy should I follow? I've been using only Wiley book. Thx for the replies.

If I were you I would go for it…like everyone else is saying, if nothing else you will get a feel for it. You already paid for the test in order to get your NTS, not showing up for it would be a bigger waste of money than cancelling it! Consider it a learning opportunity! Unless you really can't make the test date…then it is what it is!

I went into my REG and FAR exams convinced I was going to fail. I left with a 74 and an 86, respectively. You never know.

Nothing will happen to you if you just don't show up. They'll give you a score (usually between 0-40) which is a failing score. No need to cancel and pay a fee. I have had to not show up once or twice because my NTS was expiring and I just couldn't get out of work.

But like others said, definitely go take it if you can. If you have time to study/cram a little, do that. Even if you won't pass, you'll understand the test more so you'll be able to more effrectively “scope out the exam”. And you never know…you might pass.

I've wondered the impact of a no show on the overall scoring of window. Someone that doesn't show up obviously would have no impact on the scoring, but if they took it and bombed wouldn't enhance others chances of passing since you are evaluated against your fellow test takers.

I'm not clear on why a month and a half isn't enough to study for FAR (or what you mean by as we all know that isn't really a month and a half?)

If you're saying you're close to the end of that month and a half and haven't put any serious effort into studying, still go take it. But take some serious stock in why you didn't give it a better effort so you're not in this position again.
