I was just curious how long it takes to receive the Notice to Schedule. I just applied today for Audit portion of the CPA exam. Also, after I have received my NTS, are there seats usually available a few days in advance? Thank you

Really depends on your state. In South Dakota, I get mine within 4 hours however other states I have heard take up to 3 days.

and seats – yes, especially at the beginning of the testing window because so many push back their testing date due to feeling not ready.

It just really depends – since no one in lives in SD, my board can process the same day to get it submitted to NASBA

Montana is the same – really quick turnaround for NTS processing. I always had mine either the same day or by the next day.

Licensing process, however, is a completely different story…. 🙂

I'm curious about this as well, I submitted all documents to NASBA on July 3 and am still waiting. I'm in New Jersey. Any advice? I'm trying to register for AUD in early July. (Preferably by July 7)

@palmtop – Is this your first NTS? If so, that one can take a few weeks. It's the ones after that that generally have the quicker turnaround.

You can always call your state board to get an update on your application though! 🙂

i am an ohio candidate. i think the first time it took a couple days to schedule. i live in the cleveland area and i usually schedule my test 1-2weeks out and there is limited availability but you can usually get the day you want if you cycle through the different locations. if you schedule a month out you can pretty much pick you location/day/time
