Does anyone out there have a ballpark guess as to how many CPA’s are actively licensed in the US? I can’t seem to find this info anywhere … and if possible a state by state breakdown? Couldn’t find anything on the AICPA or my state’s website.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

It's not compulsory … however, highly, highly recommended. I've been to a number of recruiting events for the company I work for (Fortune 15) … and I want to get involved to tell everyone my story and what NOT to do (wait 12 years to sit for the exam after being eligible).

CPA's are way more marketable when looking for a job, and compensated higher.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

@ Gatorbatesv Thanks for the valuable input.

I know that the License requirement varies state by state. I am currently candidate under VA. I was looking at the license procedure and stuff? I probably don't have 150 hours for education requirement, NO work experience in US.

I know it is advisable to get CPA license as soon as possible. what if some one waits say for a year or 2 after passing CPA exam??

Every state is different. I'm in Florida. We have 3 years after passing the exam to fulfill the other requirements and become licensed. Otherwise, our scores expire and we start from square one. You should check with VA Board of Accountancy.

    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77

    🙂

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

This might help us ball park it:

The AICPA has nearly 386,000 members in 128 countries, including CPAs in business and industry, public accounting, government, education, student affiliates and international associates.

@ Gatorbates – I am so glad in CA they never expire one you have passed all four.. That is great for me as I need to go back to college and get at least 50 more credits to get licensed. It may be a while to get all my ducks in a row.

    CA Candidate. 05/27/2014 ~ 786/110

I have asked this question before and I never seem to get a response, maybe I can get some help here since this has been raised. Im registered in DELAWARE and I also want to know how long it will take for my credits to expire.

Any help from a DE candidate or cpa will be helpful.

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!
