    Hello friends,

    I just wanted some clarification from anyone regarding whether or not there is a time limit for prospective NY CPAs to fulfill the 150 credit hours requirement post passing of all 4 parts of the CPA exam.

    I passed my last part in August 2014 but still need 16 credits to reach 150.

    I know MA has a 3 year time limit to complete the 150 after you receive your last passing score. If you do not complete the 150 in that time frame, your exam credits expire. I didn’t find any limit for NY or any other state.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks.

    MD

    I would suggest calling them just to double check. I know for a fact that in NJ the scores never expire, but some states (Massachusetts?) do expire after about 3 years.

    @bronxbombers2 Thanks for the response

    I called the NY State Board this morning and the person on the phone confirmed that there is no time limit after passing the CPA, to complete the 150.

    I just wanted to confirm if others have heard the same information.

    Cheers.

    @Mariodire

    I called them a while back about this and they said the same thing (NY). I also am sitting with 142 credits. Hopefully I passed FAR and can bang out the last online classes this spring and be donezo!!!

    Thank you for the confirmation.

    Hope all went well with FAR and you complete the necessary remaining credits soon after.

    Cheers.
