Just an FYI regarding the process. I sent in all my paperwork and asked NYS about the status and was told I needed to contact NASBA to have them forward my file (i.e. transcript) to the state. It’s my understanding that the candidate or the state can make this request.

You can make the request.

Provide your candidate ID number, name, etc to them and ask they release your transcripts to the Board of Ed in NY so you can apply. It takes them a week to send, the State Board about 3-4 weeks to process and scan and then at this point another 14-18 weeks for them to review your full application and issue your license (provided everything is good).

Just found out I need to wait at least 12 weeks for my license.

@jrosen92770: Not to burst your bubble but they told me that a while ago. 10-12 weeks. 12 weeks was the end of last month. I called again two weeks ago:

It can take another 1-2 weeks.

I called today. Another 1-4 weeks.

If the board just received your application, expect it in November/December

Here's my experience..I waited around 16-17 weeks before they came back and said I needed 3 more credits. so after taking the credits and sending the transcripts it took 3 weeks to process and get the approval. Once it was approved a week later my name showed up on the website 🙂

Called today and confirmed that they have everything so now it's with the board. I was told min of 12 weeks. Also cannot pester the board until 12 weeks have passed. I'd complain about my tax dollars, but I do not live there anymore so I guess I cant.

I just heard back from the board…. Apparently the CPA who signed my 4B forgot to put his name and licence # on it…. So its on hold.

Timeframe:

Went to the state board on 4/21/14. Just got a reply today on my application.
