    Dear Madam/Sir,

    Here is my situation right now, I graduated from Queens college with 150 Credits in 2010. After that I started taking my CPA exams at the end of 2010. I finished and passed all parts of cpa exams at the end of 2011 while I was working full time for an EA, who has his EA license for over 30 years. Right now I’ve been working for an EA about two years now full time. I understand my boss can not sign off the one year experience for me, however, one of the senior accountant who reviews my work is a CPA, she also has been working my the EA about two years now. And she has her CPA license for about 3 years now.

    My question is can she (the CPA) sign off the working experience for me?

    So I called NYS Education Department this morning, and I told her my situation above, the representative said my cowork CPA CAN sign off my working experience !! However, I found something on NYS EDUCATION regarding the experience requirement. See below:

    Who is Eligible for Licensure by Endorsement?

    Licensure by endorsement is a streamlined application process that is available to individuals who are:

    Licensed in another state that has significantly comparable licensing requirements to New York State (see list of significantly comparable states); and

    have at least 4 years of acceptable accounting, tax, financial or management advisory experience since their initial license was issued and within the last 10 years;

    If you cannot certify 4 years of acceptable post licensure experience, you are not eligible for licensure by endorsement and must apply as an applicant for initial licensure. If your initial CPA license was issued by a state that does not have significantly comparable licensure requirements to New York State, you will need to submit all of the documentation required of an applicant for initial licensure so that the Education Department can determine whether your personal qualifications are substantially similar to New York State’ licensing requirements.

    I know a lot of times the representative gives out false information, can anyone clarify for me?

    FAR 73(11/02/2010),74(08/31/2011), 80(11/30/2011)
    BEC 75(11/30/2010)
    AUD 87(01/26/2011)
    REG 77(07/09/2011)
