I start work tomorrow and I take FAR on Saturday, and so I figure I’m going to try seeing what it’s like not having Facebook. I’ll probably reactivate it in a month just to check in.

I deactivated my after failing my first exam…and almost two years later I'm done with my exams and its still deactivated. Its a complete waste of time. You get a lot more done when your not wasting time on it.

I deactivated FB a little more than 2 years ago. One of the healthiest thing I've done in my adult life. There are drawbacks, such as not being eligible for Jeff's contests by liking stuff, but it is one less distraction!

I'm trying to limit my facebook activity. I told one friend who is expecting to make sure to let me know of things happening since I wont be on much, she gave me such attitude and it reminded me why I want to take this break. For a lot of people facebook is everything and I dont have time to keep up with EVERYTHING. If it is important, call or text me. Another reason is I am sick of seeing how everyone else has fun (here comes a pity party….). I totally understand that other people can have fun while I am working through tax season or studying, but it makes me jealous. So less I see, happier I am! Last reason, if I tell people I am busying studying and cant do things with them, I better not be on FB either!

Wow, It takes a lot of courage to evaluate your life and time to place priority on things that are important. I know this is about Facebook, but in my day it was soap operas. Since I left the soap operas I was able to start my own business. I try really hard not to get caught up in another reality show or blogging mindset…..Am I telling my age????

Kind of the same but I told a friend to stop texting me ALL the time. Too much of a distraction when I have something this important going on. I've also significantly cut back on any Facebook time. Whenever I take study breaks I go outside or do something with my dogs instead of staring at Facebook!

Good job guys! I admire everyone for doing this.

It seems like the world revolves around social media these days… it's really sad when every time you turn on the TV or the radio, or walk down the street, everyone around you is talking about Facebook. “I saw on Facebook this.. ” or “So-and-so tweeted that….” It's kind of silly, actually. And (yes, I am even guilty of this) people aren't trying very hard to maintain relationships with friends and family because we can half-do it on Facebook. With half the effort.

Ok, there's my rant. I'm going to go check my Facebook for the thousandth time today and go to bed.

    Haha.
