I’ll be taking AUD for the second time a week from today, and I’m starting to panick. I’ve wafched at the lectures, have taken detailed notes, and am getting anywhere from 60-100 on MCQs. I’m better at this point in my studies than I was when I took and failed this exam the first time. But I can’t explain to you everything about an audit. I can only really explain to you the very basics. For a chunk of content, I have to look at the questions and think logically about each answer and pick an answer right away or have to narrow two down. From what I read in these boards, that’s not good.

With that said, how should I study with only one week let? Just continue to do MCQs and SIMs over and over? It’s probably too late to rewrite any notes. Do I really need to know how to recite everything about an audit to pass this exam?

    Thanks!

Definitely just get through as many MCQ's and SIMs as you can. Those are the best bang for your buck.

    ^Agreed.

Within that, some things that help me are to:

~write notes on important points that come up in MCQs

~avoid guessing and look up the answer if I'm floundering- this reinforces correct rather than incorrect answers

~ignore, ignore, ignore percentage scores in favor of focusing on the material

    Breathe, relax, and be calm.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

@Kimboroni, Ive always tired to reason through questions and guessing then learning from the answer, but I'll try your method of looking up the answer when in doubt.

“avoid guessing and look up the answer if I'm floundering- this reinforces correct rather than incorrect answers”

I do this as well. I feel that I pick up more when I search for the answer, instead of just going with a guess.

Also, if you keep getting questions wrong on a certain section (like independence, assessment of risk etc) take notes or make flashcards to reinforce those concepts. Pinpoint your weaknesses and focus on it, so you're not caught off-guard come test time.
