I am in need of 12 more accounting credit hours to satisfy the requirements for licensure in Florida. I was wondering if anyone knew of any relatively inexpensive online options? I tried looking into Phoenix but they did not seem like a great option.

    Thanks!

What is inexpensive in your opinion, 12 accounting units are like a semester's worth of classes. More than likely you will have to go to a 4 year school and would have to pay at least 2500 to 3200 dollars depending on the school. I don't you would be able to fulfill 12 units at a junior college but definitely take a look to see if you can can some courses there to meet the requirements.

    FAR: 78*, 75
    REG: 76*, 85
    BEC: 79*, 76
    AUD: 79*, 93

All scores expired, let's try this again.

    FAR - 78*
    AUD - 66, 79
    REG - 73, 76
    BEC - 79

Everyone tends to cite the LSU online program, which is very cheap… I plan to get my final 15 credits from there when the time comes.

@sunkim415 do you have to live in CA? And how do the tests work?

I live in CA. I'm not actually sure about out of state tuition costs but check out the website. All tests and homework are done online. I took 8 accounting classes total, everything's done online =)

And I have seen a few out of state students in class. So I don't believe there's a location requirement.

Is the institution fully accredited? California accepted the classes you took there without a problem? This seems to good to be true it is so inexpensive

yep. I took most of my accounting courses at foothill. I had absolutely no problem!

But.. you won't learn much though. Instructors are lazy as hell!

I have a lot of credits to make up the gap I have for the CA 150 hours requirement.

I was looking at Mission college since its 2 blocks away from where I live. I saw they have Accounting certification courses as well as Business and Economics.

So I was just going to do as many courses as I can through them. I think the courses they have would be accepted by CBA.

Mission College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

I'm earning some through CPA Excel's program with UNA. It is $475 per 3 unit course, but it is easy and stuff you pretty much have to do already to study. I feel it is worth it because I'm getting studying and units done at the same time. So far I've completed the first tax class and I'm about half way through the 2nd tax class. I didn't get done before my REG exam. So now I'm studying for AUD and plan to do the AUD course through the program I'll earn a total of at least 9 units this way.

Also, I'm from CA and UNA is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), which was on the approved list when I looked into it a few months ago.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

Seems like Foothill will work however the state of Florida's rules say that the institution must be a four year college and Foothill is not. I was so close!
